  1. Hey there and welcome, geordie_bint! Hope you like it here with us . You will never lack for reading suggestions and good reviews, that's for sure!
  2. Hello, Tania, and welcome! Glad you found us, and super glad there's another person that obsesses over vampires .
  3. Hooray for your bro, Roxi!! Another Twi-Disciple, hee-hee. I'll have to take a look at SM's website and see those, Twisted. I must admit I've only visited the site to read the Midnight Sun bit. Read a little bit more of Breaking Dawn this morning, and only have about 50 pages left! Kinda sad, actually, even though it's decidedly my least fave of the books.
  4. Wow, all these different covers are interesting! Some of them really make me wonder what the designer was thinking though, LOL. In the US we just had the black/white/red covers. Was it the same in the UK? Aside from the movie tie-ins like Waterstone's sells? Just curious...
  5. Yeah, what new one??!! When I ran home today I checked my book, and the movie line "where else am I gonna go?" was indeed NOT an actual quote from the book. It was a mighty good one though, so go Rob! I didn't bring the book back with me (too much to have to drag home again) but the line instead was something like "I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here as long as you need me." He might have said 'want' instead of need, but either way it was kind of a lame answer to her hospital-bed-freak-out session. I don't hate the book covers; more annoying to me is that I have 2 paperback and 2 hardcovers, ugh. Did anyone here get the fancy box set of all 4 hardcovers?
  6. Oooh hockey players, nice!! I know what you mean about mosquitoes, HJordan. They too are my least fave part, and we have a ton of them in the upper midwest lake country here. There's even a joke that the mosquito is our state bird, and that's not far off let me tell you! I would move to NE in a heartbeat though. Last time I was out there we stayed in a lovely little town called Franconia, NH and had the best breakfast in the town next door, Sugar Hill. We even went to the home of Robert Frost and had a fun little tour. He lived there just a short time, but it was so neat to be standing in the same place he once was.
  7. Love your new av, Roxi!! You are right, Team Jasper needs their numbers boosted. Are you on Facebook and have flair? They might have some good Jasper ones there you could steal an idea from. I'm just to the part in Breaking Dawn when and I'm getting frustrated! I want more Edward/Bella centered stuff and, dare I say it, less Jacob and less... other things! Is a fourth and final book in a series supposed to make you long for the other three? Somehow I don't think so.
  8. Nope. You saw the extras, right Miss? Meadow was very much slapped together in Griffith Park in LA, pfttt. What a shame! My turn to google a spider monkey! Oh, and I'm trying to look up book quotes online from the hospital scene but no luck!
  9. Oh no I forgot about that line in the trees, Bee! Hilarious! Well I will need to check the book for that hospital line when I run home tomorrow.
  10. True, the giggle does help, and I'm curious too what his other choices were. Did anyone happen to look in their book and see what his line was in the hospital scene? I'm not at home so I don't have mine. I wondered if he actually said "where else am I gonna go?" That's one of my faves.
  11. I don't think I minded the Lion/Lamb line, but I do look away every time he gets to the "You better hold on tight little spider monkey" line, ugh. That I know wasn't in the book since CH said during the commentary that she wrote a bunch of lines for that scene and asked RP to pick one. I'm so disappointed he picked that one!
  12. Hey there and welcome, Joe! Glad you found us and hope you like it here .
  13. You can't see me, but I'm cringing just sitting here at my desk! I don't remember, but was that line about heroin even in the book? I did like the "Where else am I gonna go?" line... was that in the book? Wow, I'm such a bad fan, I can't recall!
  14. I really love the Anne books, Bethany, and the miniseries is wonderful! I can't tell you how many times I've seen the Kevin Sullivan adaptation w/Megan Follows. The summer I graduated high school I even took a trip to Prince Edward Island and went on an 'Anne of GG' tour - SO much fun! I haven't seen the Avonlea series, but I would highly recommend LM Montgomery's Anne books .
  15. I'm about 3/4 of the way through BD now, and I almost want to say it's my least favorite of the series. It feels like Meyer tends to take the easy way out, and it leaves the story seriously lacking. She builds things up, and then doesn't know what to do with it so it feels anti-climactic and convenient because it's all resolved in a nice pretty package. I agree about the waste of time on I just don't get it.
  16. My mom started taking me to the library when I was very young, and I'm so grateful! Whenever I remember that I tell her thank you, lol. When I was very little I loved all the Dr. Seuss books - I think I was given an official set at one time and just kept adding to it. When I got into school I was really into Nancy Drew, Ramona Quimby, Anne of Green Gables and the Little House on the Prairie books. I think the Little House books were my faves.
  17. Awwww cute new avatars Roxi and Kimmy! I like them . I don't mind Emmett in the books, since he's the only one who seems to have fun no matter what, and I agree about Esme - just not much to go on there. And Jasper's a keeper! Especially in his baseball outfit .
  18. Ugh, Bee! You just made me spit out my drink!! I never even thought up about that until just this moment. Thank goodness I already have the one w/the original cover...
  19. Why thank you, Kimmy! I believe it is one of his best features . Come on, Roxi, you know you want to change your av to Twilight too!
  20. Yeah, but mine's a neck! ::swoon::
  21. I tend to gravitate toward the non-tie-in covers, but it depends on my desperation level as well as price .
  22. Here, here! I'll say it again. OCD and all that jazz .
  23. And if you can't, ii, we know what'll work!!
  24. Ahem... works for me every time, ii!!!
  25. You can say that again, Mac!! I could not agree more. I loved Secret History, waited on Tartt for 10 years and what do we get for a 2nd book?! There are no words. Oh man I was mad at that. I still remember the day I finished that book, LOL. Thanks for the news about Kostova, Chesilbeach. I'm so excited!!!
