  1. I am still waiting to read all three of the Millienum trillogy before reviewing but I have got to mention somewhere on here the ending of The Girl Who Played with Fire - Really ???? Its all a little bit far fetched.
  2. Chris Evans was encouraging people to watch it on the iplayer but he recommended that you watch the second one first, the first one second and the last one last - I have to say I completely see where he is coming from, but I also agree with Ruth if you only have time to watch one then make it the last one.
  3. of course and that also reminds me that in the first episode of this sereis that woman (the "escort")
  4. Oh nice theory KO I hadn't actually put any thought into it as decided I would be no where near the truth but now that you have said that it does make sense to one question I had. My question was how comes a crowd gathered around Sherlock when he was partially hidden but no one went to check in John when he was clearly in the middle of the road so using your theory I will definitely have to watch that one again
  5. I am sure you will manage it. I wish I could read more Dickens but I find him hard going he is too wordyfor me. I have read Great Expectations and Our Mutual Friend and have started A Tale of Two Cities and am currently listening to a couple of them on the I-player at the moment.
  6. that sounds like my kind of book I shall add it to the wish list straight away.
  7. Thats one heck of a TBR list you have got there . I look forward to seeing your reviews as I have read a handful of those myself.
  8. I remember reading this book on the bus and I started crying at the end it was so touching. Its a nice little read and very different from all his lawyer books.
  9. I have gathered up all the books I want to read this year and am matching them to genre's I haven't read them all yet am a third of the way through Fire its just building up to something now. Will try and do reviews on all 3 together when I have finished.
  10. Thank you. I have got crime sorted I was under the impression that Nora Roberts would do for romance. I am thinking about doing another challenge alongside the genre one and that is to read an Agatha Christie book a month but only after I have read my genre books.
  11. How many challenges does one man need ? I did think the other day that take the top 10, 20, 30 etc of the freebie kindle list as a challenge but not that many of them interest me. Good luck I shall watch this space with interest.
  12. I discovered Stephanie Plum last year and am trying to pace myself. Its nice to know of something light to have between heavier reads. I like your new bookshelves they would look good either side of a comfy reading armchair.
  13. I am now on page 70 ish of Fire and am enjoying it so far but I am worrying about the poor girl in the prolouge.
  14. I have loads of these kinds of questions especially when it comes to Harry Potter. I quite often think I will ask around on that one and then think I will be baffled by the answer so in the end I just put it down to magic. How comes all these teachers and wizards keep putting blocking charms/spells over everything but Hermoine can break them ?? (which reminds me another reason I don't like to ask is my wording isn't very good) One I thought of when watching Chamber of Secrets at the beginning of terms first years arrive by boat (after getting off the train) but where is the water they sail across the rest of the year? Which also leads me to why doesn't the train go right up to Hogwarts save the first years go by boat and everyone else go by those horse things you can only see if you have seen someone die?? I could go on.
  15. Not really my kind of book I only purchased them because they were on offer and lots of people seem to enjoy them. After getting them I did think that I would never get around to reading them but they have slotted in nicely into the 2012 genre challenge. I have finished Tattoo and just started Fire, although I did enjoy Tattoo I don't think I would have carried on with the series if I hadn't already purchased them. I found the beginning slow going and the book didn't really pick up until Mikael and Lisbeth met. I was also a little disappointed with the conclusion of what happened to Harriett in that I was expecting it to be more complex. I don't understand the need to the constant references to the many members of the Vagner family there was just an unnecessary number of them especially given that between them all there were only two personalities. Basically I did enjoy the book despite it not being my "thing" although I would have enjoyed it more if it was shorter, less gruesome and had less characters. 7/10 I was just starting to enjoy the books when this came up and I did think that I wasn't enjoying the book enough to carry on with it but found I still had to read it. I did think it would be nice if these parts of the book were in a different font so people like myself could skim over those bits Her parts in the books were definitely more interesting than his and as for the Wennerstrom stuff
  16. Well I was a little disappointed I suppose it was good but I was expecting better esp. as Russell Tovey is one of my fav. actors (I think he was too similar to his Being Human character)
  17. Romance is the genre I am least looking forward to so I will be doing it in February (the shortest month) and thought about doing a mills and boons (because they are small) whatever I get I will be getting it from the library so I can return it and never see it again.
  18. I'm looking forward to the Western one so I will be saving it for later on in the year give me time to do a bit of research on what book(s) to choose. And also to see what others have read for this genre how about: - Political, Urban, Religious, Self Help (I'm not saying you need it just a suggetion), diary
  19. Re the above Spolier The bit I didn't get was that
  20. Excellent review I will definitely have to add it to the list now I thought the beginning to Oranges was brilliant but then it went weird at the end so was waiting for you to say the same about "Normal" but you didn't and a 10/10 can't be sniffed at.
  21. Brilliant I just love the little jokes along the way when you least expect them esp. Mrs Hudson I might just have to watch it again (just in case I missed anything)
  22. I have caught up with it now I did read the books years ago and was a bit sketchy on the ending and it sort of rang true but I felt it was missing something I remember really feeling for Joe Gargary in the book and felt he didn't really come across as being the same in this but not in a bad way. I really enjoyed watching it and recapping on the story, I felt it was just the right length and I got a little bit emotional at the end. Might have to re-read it now
  23. I can't wait The trailer looks brilliant (even though that woman in it (was also in spooks) annoys me)

  25. Well I am feeling pretty pleased with myself I started the year with the challege of reading 52 books (previous high total being 40) and today Ihave finished my 54th finished with a re-read of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - my least favourite of the HP's I think I read it to quickly before as I didn't really follow it this time around I had a large break from it in the middle a few months back and the other day I realised I could set myself the challenge of finishing it before the new year. I am glad that I have re read it it wasn't as bad as I remember it being although I do still feel its unnecessarily long.
