  1. I've got this on my shelf as well so it's good to hear that you enjoyed it, i'll bear in mind what you said about the letters when i come to read it.
  2. Only if i have the children with me then i don't get sufficient browsing time & i don't like to make a hurried purchase that i might regret later.
  3. Just over 100 pages left of The Fourth Queen i loved this book & found hard to put down.
  4. The Lost Boys is a great movie I watched The Lovely Bones the other night & thought it it was quite good but the book was better which is usually the case.
  5. I read the 19th Wife not one of my favourites though i'm afraid, i'll be interested to hear what you think of it.
  6. Middlemarch is a great read The BBC also did a really good production of it a few years ago which you can probably get on DVD now.

  8. Glad you liked it i'll let you know what i think when i get round to reading it I'm about 100 pages into The Fourth Queen now & i've also started When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron i've got this on audio tape & have listened to it loads so i'm only dipping into the book really.
  9. Which one did you see ? I've got the black & white film with Lawrence Olivier & Merle Oberon which my OH got for me as it's one of my all time favourite movies & books
  10. Pillars of the Earth is a fantastic book I'm about 60 pages into The Fourth Queen & enjoying so far though it's a bit racy I've also bought 3 PD James -The Murder Room, The Lighthouse & The Private Patient, The Thirteenth Tale Diane Setterfield & The Various Haunts of Men Susan Hill
  11. I think she's amazing A friend of mine is a Spanish teacher & she has a woman in one of her classes who's in her mid eighties.

  14. I stayed up late last night to finish Marley & Me, i had a little cry at the end so i was glad no one was around to see me. I've now started The Fourth Queen by Debbie Taylor.

  18. I very rarely give up on a book, if i'm finding it slow going i always hope that it'll pick up further in or have a good ending. Having said that though if i reach the 100 page mark & i'm having to force myself to pick it up & read then i'll put it in the charity bag.
  19. I finished The Rendezvous last night,i liked some of the stories but others weren't so good a bit predictable . I've now started Marley & Me by John Grogan.

My OH isn't one for romantic gestures he's not the hearts & flowers type but i remember when i was in high school i went out with a boy who was a few years older than me, who'd already left school, he used to meet me off the school bus & carry my school bag for me. I can recall how special it made me feel especially in front of my friends.
