I genuinely do not understand people who go for the glory option when it comes to football and choose to ignore their local team; even if my only local side played in the unibond south second league I would still support them over the easy option that are always on TV and are about 400 miles from my hometown. There is nothing like supporting your local team, the ups the downs, the glory; the failure, the pride you feel for your team; that is the true essence of sport for me. There is a chance my team could go up to the premier league this year for the first time in their history, 7-8 years ago they quite literally nearly went out of the professional game and out of business - I was and will be there for both. There is no better drama.

I must say it is very disconcerting to read posts on this thread about people's first purchases being albums that were out when I was well into my college years. Sure sign of getting old

I heard the result of that draw as some blokes at my works shouted across to one of their mates 'we've got Benfica.' God that annoys me you've never been to Liverpool in your life support your local team! and breathe... That rant was not in any way aimed at you Ned either

Celebrity Juice on ITV2, and I'm suddenly very glad I have never watched Pineapple studios what an annoying little man

I never really bought singles, I always preferred to buy the full album. First one I bought was Dr Dre - The Chronic, on tape:tong:

Yea he's been playing for AC Milan all season, it was playing for them he picked up his injury. He apparently moved to Europe to make it easier for the England coaching staff to keep an eye on him to give him a better chance of being picked to play in the World Cup. In hindsight he would probably have been better off staying in the US

He wouldnt have been there anyway, he's been in Italy playing all season

Very egotistical of me but I'd like to put my new one forward. Its a line from Glee, from the episode that was just on E4 and hearing it gave me goosebumps. If that isn't the greatest show in years I don't know what is.

That is so true! and of the main reasons I loved Lisbeth Salander from the millenium trilogy. She will just walk into a room and would not entertain small talk in the slightest, I hate people who just reel off pleasantries for the sake of it.

Being a grown man and have that exact thing happen is even worse

Getting up at the crack of dawn to get ready to go to a job that you hate with every inch of your being, just after spending 45 mins ironing a shirt that looked just as creased afterwards as it did before

All DFS adverts. Is it just me or have they ALWAYS got a sale on, all year round?

Why are Sky Sports creaming themselves over Jose Mourinho standing in the tunnel? He's such a smug git. Swans vs West Brom tonight !

My parents are the same way, I got into a 'discussion' with my mother several months ago about who is the better typist - me or my fathers secretary. Now, you may think that my mother would automatically say that I am of course the better typist, oh no. She spent the whole length of the 'discussion' going to great lengths and into great detail to explain to me why this woman, who by the way is 5 years younger than me, is better than me because 'she does it for a living'. HELLO!??

People who talk over you I have been doing the same job for 4 years; today someone had a question about an aspect of my job that I have dealt with almost every day of those 4 years. Did they ask me ? oh no. The person who sits literally inches from me decided to ask the person sitting opposite, that person then, unsure of the answer, advised that they ask someone else. All the while I'm sat there listening to this thinking I know what you want to know, but if you arent going to ask me, i'm not going to tell you. Just another day in the life of JCWhit

Being honest, I'm not sure what teams were playing I felt dizzy after about ten minutes trying to find the puck, looking at which teams were playing was a secondary activity It was an NHL game on ESPN America though.

Your Book Activity Today - Thread 9
Johnny Carson Whit replied to Janet's topic in General Book Discussions
I havent long started reading His dark materials, got through about 130 pages, liking it so far and it is just about to start going, it's nice to read something that is quite light as opposed to something that seems to be stuck up its own backside for a change. My best time to read seems to be very late at night lately for some reason, I'm going to attempt to break that today and spend a few hours reading when I finish work later this afternoon; which I havent done for a few weeks. -
Well there you go I stand corrected. I'd still feel safer myself using outlook than webmail whether its actually safer or not though.
-
Ok I have Ice Hockey on ESPN America right now. Can someone tell me how the heck you are supposed to track the puck? It should have a light on it

The very fact that you can access webmail from any PC anywhere in the world that has internet access leaves it vulnerable to attack, along with dozens of other issues such as security flaws in web browsers that you need to use to access your emails. Webmail is a hell of a lot less secure than email using POP3 for so many reasons. Your emails do not get stored on a POP3 server after they have been read for a start.

My advice would be to look in your local paper for a local shop, or even an independent person who will come to your house and look at it for you. They will usually go that little bit further to help you and wont rip you off like PC World, give them a wide wide berth.

Maybe an idea for you all, if you are so inclined, to contact a local PC maintenance company who would be able to physically take a look at your machine and install necessary software and get rid of any nasties that maybe lurking. DO NOT ask PC World and other such large companies to do this, contact a local independent company. My local PC World charge about
