  1. Pfft! Sod that for a game of soldiers! They just want to use your personal details for whatever nefarious things they can come up with.
  2. Oh thanks! I shall definitely get that. Nursery Crimes is my favourite Fforde.
  3. Why do Facebook want scans of your ID? I'd be highly suspicious if they asked me for mine.
  4. None of those authors are familiar to me, I'm afraid. I might have a look at the books though.
  5. I've just watched Cowboys and Aliens. It's a very odd film. A strange mix of two genres with the tropes of both that don't always sit together well. Daniel Craig does a mix of Bond and the Man with No Name. But Harrison Ford is pretty good. It's just difficult to see him as an old man cos of the constant repeats of Indiana Jones and the ....... on the telly! I forget how long ago that series was! Kylie, are you also Kylie over there? You will have to forgive me if I ought to know but I have a very bad memory for names. And with the CFS and the menopause.... it's worse. I can barely remember my own name half the time. My sister came to front door once to pick me up and I couldn't remember who she was or why she was standing on my doorstep. LOL! Although the worst was when I was making toast and I picked some butter up on a knife and then completely forgot what I was supposed to do with it. I was looking at the dry slices and my brain just wasn't making the connection at all. I was with my now-ex at the time and went into the living room, holding the knife, and said 'What am I supposed to do with this?' He looked at me for a few seconds and said ' Spread it on the toast?' And bingo! My brain popped up the 'how to make toast' file from the memory bank. Anyway, apologies for that weird tangent....... Just thought I'd mention it so you all know that me forgetting who you are or what you said to me before is nothing personal!
  6. Wait, wait, wait..... there's a Nursery Crimes Two? I've always cursed him for only writing the one when there was obvious potential for a series! I take it back, Mr Fforde!
  7. Oh wow! How did that happen? I have some Aussie friends on another forum that were most displeased at the last election. To get back on topic, I'm presently watching my guilty pleasure - Relic Hunter. It's absolute hokum but for some reason that I can't fathom... I really like it!

I'm a Bears fan. I always console myself with 'oh well, at least I'm not a Jets fan.......'

Your Giants came close, didn't they? I'm not surprised you don't want to mention it! LOL! There was a few close games this weekend.
  10. Another vote for Pennywise. That character is the reason I have coulrophobia.

Anyone watching? I'm really annoyed that Sky have it now. Channel 4 spent years building the market in this country and now Sky have priced them out of that market. Just glad that my Bears are playing in the only game in America that I will see live until the SB.
  12. It can be terrible, being a pedant, can't it?
  13. I was the same! Except I'm not and never have been a Christian so I kind of excused it with that.......
  14. Thank the gods for that! It was making my eye twitch......
  15. I thought they sent home the right one as well. He'd been struggling with his timings every week. And there's been a few times that he hadn't finished the bake. But there was always someone worse than him. Now we're at the sharp end and good bakers will start leaving. I am pleased for Nadiya. I'd love her to win it.
  16. It is getting more and more over the top in the show stoppers, I agree. I was proper dribbling over the Arctic Rolls though. I used to love that as a kid. And I was really pleased for Nadja winning last week. She was so excited about it.
  17. It's a really sweet film, isn't it? Been years since I'd seen it but it lived up to the memories.
  18. Is that the voice they take the micky out of on Big Bang Theory?
  19. I've been buying a lot of old DVD's from my local charity shop. All of them for a pound! I watched Frankie and Johnny yesterday. I'd forgotten how good an actor Al Pacino could be before he became a shouter.
  20. So is everyone enjoying it so far? One thing I love about this series is that there's no snidiness or over-competitiveness amongst the contestants. They help each other out all the time. It's really good to watch.
  21. Ach! I couldn't wait that long. I saved up before hand and brought both the Special Edition and the normal copy. In fact, I pre-ordered both from Waterstones.

I haven't either. Have we been doing really badly?
  23. Yeah, no problem. There's another forum I use that does it the other way up so it's a habit I've got into. So has anyone read it yet?
  24. I'd have picked that one as well. And then Curtain. Which I loved the first time I read it.
