    Books etc

I received an email from this company as I was registered online with Borders. It would seem that Borders continues on line as BOOKS etc and if you register with them before the end of April you will receive a lifetime discount of 5% on all new, non-sale books. Also like Amazon you can sell books through this site. They also list the Amazon price so you can see which site is cheapest. I just thought I'd mention this if anyone is interested. Oh the link is http://www.booksetc.co.uk/

  16. The only book I can remember throwing away was Inside the Third Reich by Albert Speer. His whining tone thoughout the book became to much for me and I launched it across the bedroom, it rebounded off the wall straight into the wastepaper bin.
  17. I am a detective in Toronto in the 1890's and I am investigating the death of what looks like a back street abortionist.
  18. Martin Luther (1483-1546), the man who started the Protestant Reformation, was the son of a miner. He was a law student at Erfurt University in July 1505 when he was struck by lightning and thrown to the ground. Seeing this as a sign from God, he vowed on the spot to become a monk, which he did two weeks later.
  19. I think yesterday I must have spent a couple of hours wandering around a bookshop while waiting for my car to be serviced and have it's MOT.
  20. A man who made wheels
  21. Franz Josef Haydn (1732-1809) is often said to be an Austrian composer but, though he was born in Austria, he was in fact 100% German. Haydn was from a poor background: his mother was a cook and his father was a wheelwright.
  22. Sounds like a Far Side cartoon to me.
