  5. I'm currently reading the Commemorative Edition of Necronomicon, The best weird tales of H P Lovecraft. An interesting collection of his stories.
  6. Another French detective to check out is Pel in the Inspector Pel books by Mark Hebden and then after his death by his daughter Juliet
  7. One of the best gadgets I have is a bread maker, not only can I make bread from scratch but also dough for pizza bases, buns, flat breads etc. I also use it to make cakes in and it is so easy to make jam with it too. Best present I ever had for the kitchen.

I think in one of Bill Bryson's books about language he states that British English and American English parted company in Queen Anne's reign and a lot of spellings and pronunciations which British people regard as modern Americanisms are actually examples of where British English has evolved and American English didn't.

  16. I remember a woman I used to work with having a diet book based on blood groups, basically it listed what people of different blood groups should eat to lose weight, biggest load of rubbish I ever flicked through.
  17. I started to watch it when it was shown in the states last year, it er somehow found it's way onto my computer, I am a big fan of the original and so watched it with mixed feelings. I can't remember how many episiodes I watched before just stopping, I just didn't care what happened next, but the last one I saw was where 6 took a coach party out on a drive.
  18. Laurell K Hamilton, her Anita Blake books started off ok but as the series progressed the sex scenes got longer and more frequent until the books seemed to be soft porn novels with some action scenes.

So far this Doctor just hasn't worked for me, I have been watching the Doctor since the Pertwee years, even through the dark days of Colin Baker, so I have seen ups and downs, but there is just something not right with this new series so far. Maybe I have finally outgrown the Doctor . As for the new Daleks I found that the new colours of the Daleks reminiscent of the Peter Cushing film Daleks invasion of Earth 2150. I found this if anyone is interested in a Dr Who game.
