  8. Ok I have only about 60 pages and I have finished New Moon, and I can't believe I am saying it but WOW!!!! What an amazing last 150 pages! I could not put it down, I would say it is number 2 in my best books of my reads for 2009, I really have been gripped!
  9. I read a book last year by Jon Ronson called the 'Men who stare at Goats'. I hope it is based on the same thing. It was an eye opener. Who would have thought that Barney the Dinosaur could Inflict so much pain. If it is on the same line I am with you that will be on my watch list!! As for New Moon, there are bound to be Edward teenie Boppers in the Theatre. Screaming when he comes on the screen! I have not watched the first one yet

  13. Dear god!!! Let the poor woman sing!!! they should look at it as free advertising of the songs. Are you going to have these people walking the streets at Christmas time handing out fines to Carol singers saying that they need to get a licence. Give me a break
  14. Yeah thats what I love about books. I went to the library this morning to drop it back and two people n front of the cue had read it and loved it, other people said it was Ok. I love that when people have views on a book. I think with the book I could appreciate and understand why some people like it so much and I hope that people are not thinking I am taking away the great things about the book. Becuase on it's own merit it can be a great book.
  15. Oh I love a long night down the pub!! Espcially not expected ones!

    Enjoy the gig tonight!

  16. Haha, Oh no! That does not sound like a good omen. But I will be honest I am missing edward, I'm like is this not a book about vampires?? But I am enjoying it and I am finding it hard to put down. There are another TWO??!! I thought there was only one more haha. Thanks Frankie. I still have not got my money back. I would be happy to use a voucher as either myself o my partner fly alot. Yes I do have a huuuge carbon footprint. We decided that I may travel back with him in two weeks. Thats if he stops his huge mood he is in. Sounds like you may need to take a break from Sleepyhead and start Slughter. I did that with the last Dexter book I read. The book is a fairly good book and would be a shame to read it with a dormant mojo.
  17. Haha, awesome! Did you go to a gig?

  18. Did you go out on Saturday night??

  19. Book # 12: The Lost Book of Salem - Katherine Howe. Lost Book of Salem" is published in the US under the title "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane". While clearing out her grandmother's cottage for sale, Connie Goodwin finds a parchment inscribed with the name Deliverance Dane. And so begins the hunt to uncover the woman behind the name, a hunt that takes her back to Salem in 1692 ...and the infamous witchcraft trials. But nothing is entirely as it seems and when Connie unearths the existence of Deliverance's spell book, the Physick Book, the situation takes on a menacing edge as interested parties reveal their desperation to find this precious artefact at any cost. What secrets does the Physick Book contain? What magic is scrawled across its parchment pages? Connie must race to answer these questions - and reveal the truth about Salem's women - before an ancient family curse once more fulfils its dark and devastating prophecy. Book details Published 25/06/2009 Publisher Penguin Books Ltd ISBN 9780141038117 Ok after so many rave reviews about the book and sounded like I would really like it, I decided to reserve it at my local library. Considering Howe is a academic I found her writing was easy to read and would appeal to a universal level of readers, even with a bucket load of historical content to boot. But I will be honest it did not grab me. I am thinking this is because it was not thriller enough for me and did not have enough action and certainly not enough twists. I think 9/10 people would guess the ending from near the beginning. I did not like Connie, for a history Graduate, god damn she can be 'stupid' and at sometimes I felt immature. But I did love Sam. But then people who know me would know I would love his character anyway Over all it was an 'entertaining' book, but never truely gripped me and I wanted to finish it to move onto the next. But however, I can see why a great number of people love this book, I truely can. I just feel that it did not cater for my tastes. 6/10

  21. I am 200 pages into New Moon. I am liking it so far, even though I am finding the 'Lovey Dovey' stuff rather irritating.
  22. After a useless day at the airport , I have come back to my hometown. But I did dmanage to get the Lost book of salem finished (will do my reivew later.) To be honest it was good but not as good as what I thought it was going to be. Started New moon by stephanie Meyer and I am just over 100 pages in and I am really liking it so far. Even though it is a little too mushy for my liking so far.
