  4. Yep i am totally with you. I kept going becuase it was Dexter and it was not a very long book, and ater reading the Girl with the dragon Tattoo and not liking the beginning that much but thought the ending was one of the best pieces of written work ever, I decided to give it a shot. I would say read it as I think you have to, as it is part of Dexter's journey, but for no other reason. The only good thing is the continuing storyline of Dexter and Rita's kids. But I am nearly finished my Jack Kerley book and loving it Mojo in full force. I have 60 pages to read which I intend to do this morning, and start on the next.. It is fantastic!
  5. I rarely get headaches let alone migraines but when I was il last week and the weekbefore I had such severe headaches/migraines. I had to go into a dark room, once it past the last thing I wanted to do was read, so I kind of know how you feel, hope they have gone for a long while.
  6. I will do but I do have quite a few books to read before hand.
  7. Isn't that was geometry class is for? Still racing through Hundredth Man and it gets better and better. Read 100 pages today and I don't know how.I have been so busy I have managed to only slip in ten minutes here anten minutes there. I think it is so good it is going to keep me awake and I may well finish it tonight. Which is good as I have been notified that a reservation has come in at my library for me.
  8. I have a special 1st edition hologram hardback of Mallorie's Oracle, I also have paperback versions of Crime school and The Jury must die.

  10. Oh I can't wait wait to hear what you thought of Bone by Bone. I have not read any of her books for a while, if itis a good review I might go back into reading some of her books again I have a couple on my TBR pile. As for me I am loving The Hundredth Man. I love Carson, very good character. I love the story line, if not sometimes a little confused by some of the language. Only 200 pages to go. I love it so much I am ready to move on to the next one- The Death Collectors, instead of reading the Lost Book of Salem.
  11. I think you should start on the Genisis Code by John Case. Purely because I have that on my TBR pile and I would like to know what someone thinks first. Welcome to the site!
  12. I am half way through the One HUndredth Man. I am liking it so far and liking the main character, Carson Ryder. A little confused by his past, but I am sure it will reveal it self soon. The main plot is awesome and I am wondering who is the murderer, I do have my own ideas, which to me means it is a good book. Have too much to do to read any today (Maybe a lunch though) so will have to hit it tonight. :eek2:
  13. Awesome you have some damn good reading times ahead love! Even though I have probably said this a hundred million times. Keep at it with The girl with the Dragon Tattoo, at some point you may want to stop reading it because it drags on a bit, but trust me. The second half of the book is AMAZING!!! Don't read the Karin Slaughter ones until you have Kisscut, you will regret it if you do. I noticed that you asked if Genisis was the lst one with the Grant County and Will Trent series combined. Yep it is. I am going to the chairty shop today if I find Kisscut in there I will buy it for you
  14. Awesome! I have read the Girl with the Dragon tattoo and I have to read the girl who played with fire I got it from my library a few weeks ago and I have yet to read it.
  15. Don't you just hate that! Well you might find a cheap copy in a charity shop before then, I quite often find her earlier works in my local charity shop. My Slaughter hardbacks are my pride and joy. I love them. I actually have them on a shelf above my bed. I have Indeliable signed by her. It is one of my few material items I would save in a burning building.
  16. Genisis? That is one of her best. YOu will love it!
  17. YOu know you want to
  18. Haha, I know I never realised it was a set limit either. I quite often ramble on so much I have to write a private message instead! *giggles*

As for Dead witch Walking, yeah I foud it hard to get into but I was having a withdrawl symptom from something, actaully I think it might have been karin Slaughter's Genisis! haha. That is my best book of the year so far!

I am like you if I know that a book has a series order I HAVE to read from the beginning. I am like that with the book I am on a present, it was book 4 I wanted to read due to the blurb but I had to read the prior ones first haha.

Just finished Dexter in the Dark and (read my review) but I was utterly dissapointed. The first two were amazing in comparision, but if you find you like the first two, the third is of course a must. I have just reserved number 4 at my library.

  19. Read a hundred pages of The Hundredth man by Jack Kerley. Going pretty well so far and my mojo is back!!! :eek2:
  20. Heloo me dear!

Just wanted to say "Whooooo Hooooo" Glad to see you read Slaughter! Glad to hear you liked it too!

Oh please can you tell me what 'Dead Witch Walking' is like please.I got the book at from the library after a recommendation and only read 30 pages, I do want to read it at some point though, looked quite interesting, especailly the little Pixie thing dangling fro her Ear ring.

    Best wishes

  21. Yay!! I am gald you like it :eek2:
  22. Book #10: Dexter in the dark. Synopsis Dexter Morgan is busy planning his wedding to Rita to complete his nice-guy disguise. But when a student is found burnt, molested and headless - seemingly sacrificed to an ancient god - and Dex is brought in as forensic analyst to help investigate, he realises he could be dealing with someone a whole lot more sinister than he is. Soon it seems the dark passenger in Dexter's head has gone into hiding. And when something creeps out your friendly neighbourhood serial killer, you know it's serious ...As Halpern and Dexter are stalked by death, it looks like it's getting personal - especially as Dex now has a family to protect. Gradually, Dexter realises his stepchildren might share his extracurricular interest in death. Could he help them target their bloodlust, just as he steers his own? But to do that, Dex must cope with a certain mutilated sergeant from his past, and more importantly ...stay alive ... I was looking forward to reading this book as I loved the previous books. I restarted the book after opting to read a Sookie Stackhouse novel first. After reading the first 70 pages I found my Mojo dissappearing. I was not sure if it was the book or just my Mojo taking a break, but I kept plodding along. After a week had only read another 30 pages and finding it hard to 'connect' with the book. I just found it had a slightly different feel than other Dexter books. Anyway, today I had the morning off and decided to go for it and sit on the couch armed with coffee and read until my eyes bled, as I felt my mojo returning. Becuase of this I realised that I dont think it was my mojo weening it was actually the book. This is a hard review to write as I don't want to give to much away for fans of the series. Other than I felt that he kind of changed genre - If that makes sense to other people. I found some of the reasons I love Dexter is because of I kind of got confused with the main murders that were happening and during some parts of the book I could not keep my concentration on the page. I also could not understand why All in all I feel it is an average Thriller. If you have read the first two books then you have to read thi,. but please do not get any misconceptions that it is going to be as good as it's predicesors... It's not. All in all it is a shame, but still worth the read for Dexter fans. 5/10
  23. Oh that is good to hear. Well I finally finished Dexter in the Dark, and in the end was pretty good. I will write a review later. I have decided to carry on with the Crime genre and start The Hundredth man by Jack Kerley. The mojo is slowly coming back so lets hope!
