  4. I will be honest Fractured was not as good. But i don't know if that was becuase I read it straight after skin Prilivege and I was still about it. But yes Genisis is still good. It toes take a little getting used to, but it's good Also she has a dedication at the beginning apologising for 'What she did' hahaha Also if you go online on her website (You must read Skin privalege first for people who have not) you will find a chapter on how sara and Jeffery first met. It is lovely!
  5. I will be honest I have been rather reluctant to watch the movies because I don't want to loose the essence of the books. I do hope you read them and best to read them when you are more open minded? I hope that did not sound harsh I could not think of the right word. If you do read them please let me know what you thought of them.
  6. Hi there!!! I know what you mean. I came on this forum and I was I decided that I had to continue reading to get over it. I hope you do. As I keep banging on about it you need to get through the books just so you can GENISIS. I can hear the groans from members on this board as I go on about the book so much.
  7. I'm with you I watched about 20 minutes and turned it off. Was really dissapointed. My fella told me that he bought Twilight on DVD for when I come over. he said he was mightly embarrassed taking it to the checkout hahaha. He said he kept emphasising it was for the OH, and that he thinks that they now think that "I love the books and films that much or I am a closet gay, as I was constantly refering to my girlfriend all the time".
  8. This is from someone who has not watched the films yet but read the books. I was one of the few who wasnot bothered about reading the books, but I thought a book that has such different review to the extremes it was a book I had to read. First off I thought I was going to hate it. I thought it was going to be some silly little love story for teens. I was wrong. I don't know how well the book was put onto screen, but the book was beautifly wrote. I have know read three of the series and waiting for my fourth to arrive. For me I had to look it at it as just another book without the hype and without the missconception of it being a lovey dovey book. If you think you could read it with an open mind I would recommend reading it. Thats coming from someone who really had no view on the book at all.
  9. It does look fantastic. I can't wait to read Dan Brown after Christmas.
  10. I am not the best of flyers I freak out during Turbulence, but once I took a book about 9/11... Stupid Mistake!!!! Hahahaha Thanks for the recommendations.
  11. I went to my library to take back some books and I picked up my reservation of The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. I read the first 15 pages and it looks amazing. I also extended my date return for Dexter by Design so I might read that one a little later now. i also went to the Charity shop and I picked up Jeffery Deaver The Coffin Dancer for 25p. It is a the same cover style as my other ones so i was very happy and I can give my other copy to my OH.
  12. That's awesome!!!! I love it!
  13. Book # 17: Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris Synopsis Sookie comes to the rescue of a naked, amnesiac vampire - and ends up in the middle of a war between witches, werewolves and vampires! Sookie Stackhouse is a small-town cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. She's pretty. She does her job well. She keeps to herself - she has only a few close friends, because not everyone appreciates Sookie's gift: she can read minds. That's not exactly every man's idea of date bait - unless they're undead - vampires and the like can be tough to read. And that's just the kind of guy Sookie's been looking for. Maybe that's why, when she comes across a naked vampire on the way home from work, she doesn't just drive on by. He hasn't got a clue who he is, but Sookie has: Eric looks just as scary and sexy - and dead - as the day she met him. But now he has amnesia, he's sweet, vulnerable, and in need of Sookie's help - because whoever took his memory now wants his life. Sookie's investigation into what's going on leads her straight into a dangerous battle between witches, vampires and werewolves. But there could be even greater danger - to Sookie's heart, because the kinder, gentler Eric is very hard to resist. The Sookie Stackhouse books are delightful Southern Gothic supernatural mysteries, starring Sookie, the telepathic cocktail waitress, and a cast of increasingly colourful characters, including vampires, werewolves and things that really do go bump in the night. Ok, I nearly did not write this review as I know that everybody else I have spoken to LOVES this book. I don't... Sorry Ok so I normally like the Sookie Books and after Club Dead I was looking forward to this. I was in the moood for more vampire tales after finishing New Moon. Maybe this was the problem?? Ok so like normal you are put in the mix within a few chapters. It is quick and fast paced but I found that due to the quite complex storyline with many added new chartacters that for me I needed a bit more detail. I was getting a little confused by all the characters when it came to the 'big scene' near the end of the chapter. I unfortunately felt not empathy of feelings towards any of the characters in the book. Even though I did get a little excited when Bubba and Bill made an appearance. I felt the main chapter in the book where the was rushed, by the time I tried to get into the scene, it was finished. I felt utterly dissapointed, and felt it was an anti - climax. I think this was because I just read a fantastic fight scene in Ecplise and it just showed how lack of detailed this book really was. But I do love Bubba!!!! One of my favourite characters ever. also I think I like Bill. I did get a little excited when he came back. So all in all. I hated it But I will continue with Sookie and hope that the next two that I have are better, if not I think I really will have to stop. 4/10
  14. I love the way you pick out you books *Makes mental note to self - Find a dice! *
  15. I stuck at it. I have finshed it and I loved the last page - It was the end! I can't believe I hated a Sookie Novel that much! Will write my review tomorrow. Going to start Dexter by Design tomorrow.
  16. I have exactly 100 pages eft and I am sooooo bored of my book I just want to finish it and I don't care what happens.
  17. I did not manage to watch any of the live shows but I do have them ready to watch. I am planning on watching them next week. But I have noticed for any fans of Derek Acorah, that is even if you just find his 'visions' hillariously funny, that is doing a show on SKY 1 tonight at nine called: Michael Jackson: The live Seance. The description in my magazine states - Medium Derek Acorah tries to contact Michael Jackson's spirit during a seance.
  18. 170 pages into Dead to the world. I can't seem to get into it, and I just want to finish it so i can move on to my mext book as I have three to read by Monday. Another Sookie and Dexter by design.
  19. Chomsky is real easy to read. I think that is part of his appeal. I sometimes loose concentration and loose the plot but with his books I generally don't. That is awesome about Faithless!!!! Yeah I do find sometimes with the Sookie books they are Ok but don't grab me for a while
  20. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

  21. I'm not too bad thank you!

We had a little party at mine last night, which was nice. It was dry but rather cold here, and no wind so it made the perfect night for fireworks really. Shame you did not get to see any, I am sure there will be some tonight or tomorrow night though.

Thanks for the recommendations of the clubs. I am going up in a few weeks, and I really can't wait. I am most definately going to some of the clubs there.

    Any plans for the weekend?

  22. I have read a few by Chomsky both later and earlier works. The most popular recent book by him would be Hegemony or Survival? America's quest for dominance. The title explains it all. Very easy to read and very inlightening. Also Interventions is another good one. Manufactuering Consent is also another good one. Oh I could be here all day I absolutely love Chomsky. If you read the book and want more of that sort of book please let me know and I can give you other authors in the same vain and influenced by Chomsky and other books relating to the subjects that he covers. 134 pages into Dead to the World, and the page I am on is very Interesting but before that I will be honest I was getting a little bored and could not seem to get my concentration
  23. Yes I have The Bone Collector on my TBR pile and I am seriously thinking about taking it. Thanks for reminding me Chrissy. Would you believe I have four of his books. Deviant Ways, Rosary girls, Broken Angels and Play Dead. I have had deviant ways in the 90's and I got Rosary girls since it first came out in Ppaerback all those years ago and would you believe I have never read them. I have always had something esle to read. I think I might read some of them soon. Thanks for the recommendations!
  24. Me too, I would have read it already but I have had enough hints that i am getting it for Christmas. my OH said that nearly everyone who was reading a book was reading the lost symbol
  25. I have read some of Anne Rices books, including Interview with... Vampire Lestat and Another later one which was really bad. But Queen of the damned might be an idea! That Herbert ones also sounds tempting and I might read that one. I have read the first Patricia Cornwell and I was planning on taking the next one with me. But I will be honest I wasnot overly impressed with it But It is a must read. I actaully picked up my reservation for Bitten from my local library. As I was told this might be good for the plane the only problem is that my copy has a really small font, which I do struggle to read for a long time. But ill be packing it in my suitcase, if not my hand luggage... I have just reserved Exit Strategy! Thanks Kell! Oh thats sounds very good!! Thanks Chrissy, and yep we did indeed have a little chat about Gardner
