  7. I know. It is hard to believe that he held so much power and those poor girls had no say in what they could do with their lives. The White Queen is the first book in a series of three (don't know when the others are coming out but very exciting) focusing on the war of the roses. I know very little about that part of tudor history so I am really harasssing my local library into getting a copy
  8. Oh yes! Owen Meany is a fantastic book! I read it a few years back and still have it sitting on my shelf I should give it another read. I remember the ending had me in tears. Another sad book - Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir
  9. off the top of my head deathly hallows half blood prince boy in the striped pajamas change of heart the reader revolutionary road great gatsby Loads probably. If I get really 'pulled into' the story then I get quite emotional
  10. hahaha my mind has connected the dots
  11. I am a 'safe' reader in that I stick to genres that I like. I will read almost any author as long as it is related to the subjects that I am interested in. The name means very little to me.

  13. I really loved this book too.
  14. I have read all of the Tudor book sby P.G. (except The White Queen that has just been released) and I have to say TOBG is my favourite. I remember reading it and being completely captured by the story. I have always loved the tudors and found these books a great fun way to learn a little bit more
  15. I have recently finished this. I read it over two days on holiday. I LOVED it - what a fantastic book! I found the storyline intriguing and the style of writing perfect I was hooked on it straight away and was reading it at every opportunity. I read a lot of it at night by torch light inside my tent, which really set the mood
  16. I have recently added this to my reading list. I picked it up in a charity shop last week on the last day of my holiday. I was really drawn to it but didn't choose to buy it and have regretted it since. I'll have to hound the librarians for this one
  17. I have read: Christmas Carol Hard Times Great Expectations Oliver Twist. My favourite was Great Expectations. It is really gripping and the characters are very well developed and engaging

  19. I love Gregory's books and The Queen's Fool is one of her best in my opinion I have always loved the Tudors so these books are right up my street. I am very excited aboout her new set of books set around the war of the roses (as I do not know very much about them). It is a really fun and easy way to learn about history Maureen - The Virgin's Lover is brilliant. I hope you enjoy it
