  1. Hello Mrs!

I've been having trouble posting replies to messages....this is forth time lucky and I keep forgetting to copy&paste! Argh!

I'm looking forward to a supr hot summer. The hotter the better for me! I love being able to go out without a cardigan :D

Tome Cruise is enough to let anything down! I much prefer Stuart Townsend although I'm too not sure he can act (which says a lot for Tom Cruise!)

Slumdog is AMAZING!! I put off seeing it as I thought it wasn't my thing but it's the best movie I've ever seen. There's no subtitles or crazy dancing (until the end credits) and the child actors are brilliant! It's just a fantastic movie.....I can't recommend it highly enough :D:D You HAVE to see it as soon as you can :D xx

  2. I'm about to jump in the bath with Q&A by Vikas Swarup. I'm about 2 thirds of the way through. So far, so good
  3. Imagine trying to concentrate on remembering lines and staying in character, faced with a half naked Alexander Skarsgard?!?! Although I must admit I'd learn to get through it
  4. Poor Lestat! I love the later books as he usually introduces them and I can just hear Stuart Townsend speaking in his french accent from Queen of the Damned, in that seductive tone he has.

I'm reading Q & A at the moment by Vikas Swarup. Slumdog Millionnaire was based on it although the only thing that is similar is the gameshow element and a few situations. I'm enjoying it so far although (dare I say it) it's not as good as the movie yet.

3 days in placement is a fantastic opportunity isn't it. Do you have a placement set up already or will it be allocated to you in Sept?

I really like Edinburgh for a day or two but it was so cold and windy last week that I thought it'd be pretty depressing to live there. I also couldn't find a Mac make up shop/stand so it's not the city for me

  5. I also read that Eric gets naked quite a bit in the next season. How will we cope!!??
  6. Same here.....the cafe for cheesy beans, the shop for sweets and the library too. But I didn't realise until Monday that there's a toilet on each floor of the library. For three years I've been using the one on the top floor! People must think I'm taking ages when really I'm on a mini adventure through book aisles!

I'd love to get the studentship....it's right up my street! :D Fingers crossed. What are your plans for next year?

It'll be really strange when he goes. We both applied for the same job but he has a few months work experience at Gateshead Council so he had an edge on me. I'm not really bothered as it's always a few degrees colder up in Edinburgh :cold::lol:

IWTV is a brilliant book isn't it :) I love Louis and even though I hated Lestat at the end of this book, I grew to love him in the next few books. He's so cocky! You'll have to let me know how you get on with it xx

  7. Hello Mrs!! I'm good :D Just making up interviews as we speak

I've had a very quick look into getting dissertations bound and pronta print do it for about

  8. That clip is so good Stephanie but now I need more! When is Season released again? I also think it could be the Tut tut tut Nicola How exciting! I Eric!
  9. Gosh this takes me back  I have very vague memories of a rat in a car when I think of this song. The first song I ever owned was Call Me by Blondie. I played the tape over and over (and over) when I was about 7. Technically, I stole it from my Dad's car for about 3 months before he made me give it back It's still one of my favourite songs to this day
  10. I love Neverwhere Cosychair Hope you enjoy it! You can't beat a bit of Neil Gaiman
  11. I'm about halfway through Q & A by Vikas Swarup but travelled to Edinburgh on Thursday without it so had to buy another book to keep me entertained on the journey. I opted for Neil Gaiman's Graveyard Book. They're both great books so far but I'm planning on finishing Q & A first
  12. Oooh I've not been to see anything there yet. We were thinking of seeing Avatar but never got around to it. What did you think of Alice in Wonderland? I've heard a few bad reviews but I'll still get around to seeing it some time. I stick to the town to usually. The Metro just seems like a plastic city to me......it has no soul!

I suppose you'd just think that you were too young for it to be anything serious but it just goes to show that you can never be too careful eh. Such a shame.

I know someone who sent out 150 questionnaires and got 2 back. How soul destroying is that! She's just making the results up herself now so she can get started on the write up. I can't believe it's due in on 30th April.....6 weeks! When's yours due in? Eeeeek!

  13. I'm reading Q & A by Vikas Swarup and so far it's fantastic! Danny Boyle based Slumdog Millionnaire on it but so far I've only found a few similarities. Hopefully I'll read a few chapters tonight before I doze off
  14. Well feel free to send as many questionnaires as you like. I can send them to friends too if it would help the cause? And uni! :D

God........my dissertation.........pfft! I went into thinking it would be really straight forward but how wrong was I! In general I'm looking at what role the community has played in planning decisions within the Ouseburn Valley as whenever you go there, there's a pretty strong sense of community and no signs of the economy taking over. Anyway, the opening line of my very first interview was "there is no such thing as a community in the Ouseburn, just middle-class yuppies". I've interviewed about 8 people so far and they all pretty much say the same thing, so how can I say that the community has or hasn't played a role when apparently there's no such thing. STRESS! I'm sure I'll just be able to adapt the question but deary me....the hassle! I'm probably going to have to make up the results of a survey too which I didn't really want to do

  15. Babies babies everywhere! My friend Amy is now 3 months pregnant with her first child and my cousin is pregnant with her first child this year too but it's quite a sad affair as her Husband has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. It's developed so far that there isn't anything they can do for him, only slow it down enough for him to see the baby born. He's only 31 but when he found a lump he was too scared to confront it, thinking it would probably be nothing major. She's really excited for the baby to get here but at the same time, she doesn't want it to arrive either. Bless her.

Budget charms are the future (well, until we get actual paying jobs!) I'm sure there's a stall in the Metro Centre too that sells glass charms for

  16. Ah you see, I have a Sister and she's usually the one who's organising joint gifts. We're expecting a Step-Nephew soon so she dragged me around town to buy things for a baby box. Neither of us have any experience if children so we ended up sticking to what we know best and bought loads of tiny clothes and shoes! Haaa! He's going to be the best dressed baby on the ward :D

Ooooh sounds like you were spolit then I love pandora too. My Mam got me one for Christmas but the charms aren't actual Pandora. I have an angel, a cherub and a star on mine from the jewellers in Black Friars. They fit perfectly though. My Sister has a full Pandora but she likes to treat herself to nice things :lol:

This sun is lovely isn't it. I've started walking along the Quayside everyday on my way into town....everyone's chirpy when the sun's out :D

How's your dissertation coming along? :D

  17. You can always rely on a bit of Alexander to raise your spirits eh! Haa!

Sounds like you had a great day and the promise of books sounds good!

My Mothers day was canny. I bought the card ages ago but got the weeks mixed up and realised on Saturday night that it was Mother's Day the next day! Eeeek! I rushed out and bought her 3 books (The Lovers by John Connolly, The Colour Purple by Alice Walker and Home Truths by Freya North) She's really into reading at the moment so I thought she'd appreciate them. I also rushed out to Marksies for flowers. What a bad Daughter!

Sounds like you have a busy week then. It's typical that Birthday's and special days all come together isn't it......not to mention costly  xx

  18. Hey Stephanie!

I'm good :D Hope you had a great day and were spoilt rotton! xx

  19. My BF is a huge F1 fan so I'm currently sat watching cars go around a track I don't mind it really and now that I understand a few of the rules, it's interesting enough. I have a soft spot for Lewis Hamilton and Mclaren. My BF's cousin is the Red Bull photographer so she attends all the races and has met quite a few drivers. She says that they live such a different lifestyle to her that she finds it hard to have a conversation with them as they share very little common ground. It must be an amazing job though. She even met Cliff Richard last year
  20. I've just finished The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent. While I thought it was a bit slow to start with, it turned into an amazing read. I'd definitely recommend it
  21. :balloons: Happy Birthday Stephanie! :balloons:
  22. That's pretty interesting Rawr! I like to hear alternative theories
  23. I read that earlier today. Crazy world! If I ever came out with that as a child, my Mam would be having words too
