  1. This actually made me bark. Yes, bark.
  2. Good morning. I hope this doesn't come across as terribly rude, but how does one pronounce your name? Please don't misunderstand - I love Celtic names, and wish to call my first daughter (should I ever be fortunate enough to father one) Niamh. Yours is a name I have never encountered, and I like to be right in my head.

I hope you're really well, me old chum, and that things are going well with you. x

I'm quite well, thank you. Glad it's the weekend, I can tell you, mind! I'm really pleased you had a smashing time. Have a great weekend. x

Aaaaannnd Mac suddenly realises that he hasn't said congratulations and fells really silly. I hope you had a wonderful day and that the Honeymoon was superb, Kate. Good on ya, lass! X

  5. Hiya Kelly. That's all. Hope you'r lovely and well, my friend. X

  6. I have the book! I got it last night in Sainsbury's. Can't wait to read it - but I'm reading Iain Banks' Transition at the moment, which is absolutely brilliant (I gave up on the Charlaine Harris books - I hope people aren't cross about this...)

Work remains the same, so is bearable. I'm steering as clear as I can of the mad members of staff - such perplexing attitudes and behaviours!

How are you doing? What's happening tonight? Much planned?

    Hope you're very well.

  7. Yeah, sometimes old Mr Koontz has had that effect on me, too. When he's good, he's really good.
  8. Aloha. I am tip top ta. Quite a gentle weekend ahead, not much planned after this morning, so I'm looking forward to some peace! Marvellous.

How are you, CW? Hope this finds you pukka!

  9. I might well have a look, although it will be with great trepidation! I tried to get out of the DofE weekend yesterday, so I'd be able to come down, but no-can-do, alas. There's only the two of us that can be there that particular weekend, and I can't let the kids down. It would have been smashing to hook up. Maybe another time, eh?
  10. I adore THGTTG, having grown up with it from radio, to books, to television. Adore it. I'm not sure how I feel about someone else doing a sixth instalment - I don't even want to pick up one of those Bourne books now that they're being written by someone other than Ludlum, and they're not that important to me! I'd have come along, Giulia, even having never gone to a fan convention before for anything, but I'm flaming busy with DofE that weekend, dammit! It would have been interesting and fun.
  11. Bad Boys I & II. I've had one of those days where I just hide from the world. Classic line from Will Smith: "Back up, put the gun down and give me a pack of tropical fruit Bubblicious."
  12. Hoo hoo! How do you do, Roxi? I hope you're tickety-boo and enjoying your Sunday...oops...my gammon's boiling over and there's coke all over me cooker (coca-cola, not nose candy!)

  13. Woohoo! Hello, Sarah. Just whizzing through to go 'yo yo yo' and then crack on with cooking me dinner. I hope you're very, very well, my friend and that you've had a splendid weekend.

Pip pip and toodles for now.

Hola! What's new, friend of mine? It's been...err...some time? I'm certainly not on this page (you'd be surprised at how many people accuse me of this!).

Hope you're very well and excellent. X

  15. My god, man! Do so instantly. You shall not regret it!
  16. I will approach this book with much trepidation - it got giggled at by the critics on Front Row on Radio 4 (not a good sign), and the satirists are having a field day with it. I'll still read it, mind, and make my own judgement. However, I think I'll wait until I can pick it up for a quid in the bargain buckets (which may be sooner than we imagine). Hup-la.
  17. I absolutely loved this novel and, you'll be pleased to know, The Girl Who Played With Fire is even better. I cannot wait for The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest to come out later this year. I totally agree with the heaviness you describe at the beginning of the novel, but it is so worth it. It's one of my favourite novels of the year, easily. Gosh, CW, get on the next one asap, Lady!

Surely it must have been The Lord Of The Dance that made you feel off colour? Having experienced this and found it not to my taste, I would have run for the hills, cousin's wedding or nay!

Ahoy there. Thought I'd drop by to deliver our usual Sunday greetings. How're things, Sedge, me old mate?

  20. Yo. How goes it? I'm off out to the pub at this time. What're you up to? Hope you're tres well.

Now THAT is is result, lady!

  22. My namesake author (no, I'm not called Sophie!), but I'm not sure if I'll get this one, Kelly. It sounds intriguing, but as I've mentioned, I tend to struggle with books where the target audience is young adults... ...although, saying that, His Dark Materials was one of the best things I've ever read, ever! So, who knows? What do you think?
  23. Wahey! I've read that one, too. I'll look forward to having a brief chat with you about it. Cheers Andrea!

I think you'll enjoy Fluke. Anything by James Herbert's pretty good. Dean Koontz is always a fine read as well (with the odd exception). Is this a genre that you particularly like then?

    Hope you're well.
