  1. Ahoy, there, Kate! Just dropping by to say hello and see how you're doing. I have been extraordinarily busy, of late. This weekend I have been to my aunty's 50th birthday party. Many of us are obliged to do a 'turn' at these things, and of course I had to acquiesce to her wishes. However, the 'entertainment' was pretty much abysmal and the do was not something I enjoyed. I just wanted to drive home!

Which is where I am now. I've been head-hunted for a job working with challenging kids in a secondary school in a run-down area, which I'm probably going to take. So this is good news. It's for the same money, but with less hours and longer holidays, so I'd be a mug not to take it.

I hope you're very, very well and happy, that you're having an excellent time with your boyfriend and that work has ceased to be quite the stress-inducing experience you were finding it.

    Take good care, my friend.

Oooh! Paula! That book sounds ace! I'll go and grab that one tomorrow, thank you. How have you been? We've not chatted for ages (I've been rubbish!). How's life?

I hope you're very, very well. Big hugs. :friends0:

  3. Ugh, I bet it was! I always get the post-holiday blues. I hope things improve, and swiftly. :D

  4. Oh, and The Last Witchfinder is excellent. Do try it if you can get hold of it.

  5. Nope, never read anything by him, but I shall begin in approximately 15 minutes time.

Have a good evening, my friend.

  6. Hi Jo. I never replied to your question: Have I ever read Tell No One? I'm so rude and apologise for being so.

Yes, I have. I loved it. Coben is very, very skilled at his job, don't you think?

I hope you're very well. Sorry, again, for not responding sooner. :friends3:

  7. Ooooh, The Last Witchfinder is excellent (have I put it on McRecommends? I'll have to have a look...)

It was one of those I picked up whilst in the shop and as soon as I started reading the first page I knew I had to have it. It's destiny lay upon my shelf!!!

  8. Hi Michelle. I hope you've had a good holiday (I could do with one, to be quite honest, but I'm not going away until November, for Pete's sake!)

Did you get time to plough through dozens of books? I don't feel as though I've had a holiday unless I've been left alone to indulge myself in my obsession...

  9. I would not dream of spoiling a book for anyone, my friend. Worry not. Actually, I've no idea what Deaver's like, but there's a huge fanbase on here, so I promised to give him a go. So I am.

Hello. I haven't said 'hello' to you before. I know, technically, that I have said 'hello' prior to that statement, as 'hello' was the word that came before said statement, but who's splitting hairs here?

So. There you are. You've posted a lot of...err...posts...and you seem to know stuff about computers and...stuff. Me? I'm a bit of a Luddite, so I now know where to come if my laptop's acting a bit crappy.

    Hope you're well.

  11. Dammit, no! I've not had a chance to pop into town, but am going to give it a damn good try tomorrow. I've promised to read a Jeffrey Deaver book next, anyway, but I have to get Dean Koontz' new novel in hardback, otherwise the world will end and it won't go with my collection.

Thank you, fella, for the sound advice on the bilge that I spew out like black bile from my festering insides...it's very helpful. I've never really done anything like this before, having concentrated on song writing most of my post-adolescent life. I will make sure I take it all on board as I re-write and progress with said bile.

What's the book you're reading in the picture?

Hope you're very well. Thanks again.

I think From The Corner Of His Eye. I really loved the character Thomas Vanadium. I also love the Odd Thomas books. And The Mask was really creepy. I've read them all. I get a bit obsessive about books, you know.

  14. Deal Breaker will take you very little time, because it's fab and very easy to plough through. The Secret History would take a little longer as it's a bit heavier but still utterly brilliant. Either will keep you hooked. Good man!

  15. Hey, Whitlock. How're things down-under? (I refer, of course, to your location).

  16. Now then, distant travelling lady, how're things going in...erm...Hong Kong, isn't it? It's been a while since I checked in with you so thought I would do that very thing.

Today (and I appreciate that this is very British of me) it is raining, so I have been reading, cooking and recording some new songs. Work is pants, life is busy and I am now a bit bored. Might watch a film or something. Tra-la-laaaaa.

Hmmm....I think I'm taking leave of my senses here, my friend. I shall bid you farewell and look forward to catching up again soon.

    Toodles for now.

  17. Hello Dan. Thought I'd drop by and say 'Yowza!'

So, mission accomplished. Hope you're very well.

  18. Hey Suzanna. Dean Koontz has a new novel out tomorrow (08.06.09). Guess who's going to the bookshop first thing!

  19. Mac

Ooh, I'm a Dean Koontz fan, too!

  20. P.S. Have a great day. :D

  21. I am just about to get my backside into gear and make some lunch before I start some recording. Mmmm....bacon butties....

  22. Ayup. Just dropping by. Hope you're very well.

  23. All is well, really, ta. I love Wildlife Parks. We get to go reasonably regularly at work, because my dudes are very fond of animals. I'm quite lucky doing what I do, even if it's so poorly paid.

I'm glad things are good. :jump:

  24. Hey Roxi! Just popped in to say 'Hi', that's all. Hope you're very well. :D

  25. Hey Sarah! Hope you're having a lovely weekend. :D
