I am mostly well, thank you. Yellow is a good colour, don't you think? It brightens up my day, even if I'm feeling amazingly grumpy!

    Enjoy your Sunday!

  2. Mac

Morning Kate. That's all. Hope you're very well.

  3. Mac

Hey there. I hope you're enjoying your time on this site. Be careful that it doesn't swallow you whole! I thought I'd write you your first visitor message, so here it is.

    Have a great Sunday.

  4. Hey Giulia. Just checking you're okay. It sounds like you're having a bit of a rough time, currently. Thinking of you.

Tonnes of vicarious support from me, mate. :friends0:

    Turning 35...

What makes me feel really old is all the time I spend with young people. I'm a Scout leader, an Explorer Scout leader, a Duke of Edinburgh Award supervisor and assessor and I teach kids the drums, bass and guitar.

All this pushes me towards feeling ancient.

  6. Mac

Have you been keeping tabs on my Friday night action?

  7. Mac

Advanced years?!?!? You're less than a year younger than me! I am wounded! Only last night, my bass player in my band (a 19 year old lass) suggested that I wouldn't be able to remember doing my A-levels. Cheeky cow.

I wonder when I became 'old'...jeez...I think I'm beginning to slump a bit...hang on...is that a middle-age crisis I see approaching at a frightening speed? I might have to buy a Porche to escape it...

Something's definitely going on with my self-esteem, though. I keep thinking "Here I am, 35 years old, still looking after adults with learning disabilities, still earning very little, still single (well - divorced) and still not going anywhere".

    I need a pill.

    Or something.

Hope you're not as grumpy as me, my old friend. :D

  8. Hello, my Gallic friend. How are things over the channel? This week has been terribly busy (no change there, then!), but it is now over - as of half an hour ago - and I have a relaxing weekend of reading, wine, film and food planned. What about your lovely self?

I very much hope you are well. :friends0:

  9. Hey Kelly. The Intruders is a great book, and I' sure you'll love it. You should try Christopher Fowler as well, my friend. If you want to start with his short stories to give yourself a taste, have a go at The Devil In Me. Today, it is raining, I've finished work and I'm going to chill with a book and some beer, watch a few films and cook some nice grub. What're you up to?

I hope you're very well. Have a great weekend. :D

    Hi Charm! :friends0:

  11. Mac

Lady, you keep replying to me on your own message board! That's why I don't get back to you sooner! If you click on my name, it'll send you to my message board.

I love Wales. I love the coastline. I love the sea. I love walking in the hills (I do this a lot). I believe there is little better than being in the middle of nature and all it's beauty. It does something to my heart when I'm out there, all alone, soaking it in. It feels...like life! Does that make any sense at all???

I hope you're most excellent and well. :friends0:

  12. Aloha! Just dropped by to say Hi. Hope you're well.

  13. Mac

I absolutely agree. Vampire boys, indeed! At least our Kirsty has brains, personality and that tantalising raised eyebrow....mmmmm, Kirsty....

  14. Mac

    It's Kirsty! It's Kirsty! It's Kiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrssstyyyyyyyyy!

  15. Things with me are reasonable, many thanks. I'm busy doing many different things and finding less time to read, dammit, but it's my own fault for volunteering for so much stuff.

Injuries??? What injuries, my friend? Has someone harmed you in any way? Send me their address!;)

How do I get to read the stuff you're writing? I'd like to have a look.

Hope you're not too stressed. Take good care, Giulia. :friends0:

P.S. Did I spell your name correctly? If not, please forgive me, I mean not to offend.

  16. I forgot to mention my warning. Do not read the blurb! The blurb put me off reading the fellow for ages - I only picked up Killing Floor when I was sitting in an airport departure lounge and it was next to me on a vacant chair for half an hour. I picked it up and consequently could not put it down! Toodle-pip, Pip, for now.

  17. Hiya. You can read the Lee Child books in any order, but, as with everything, it'd help to start at the beginning. Try Killing Floor. You won't be disappointed. If you are, I'll eat my hat (no pressure there - I have lots of hats).

    I hope you're very well. :D

  18. I've read 'em all. I get so ridiculously excited whenever he brings out a new one - particularly if it's a Myron Bolitar story. I'm like a child at Christmas. Honestly, it's almost pathetic.

Check out my thread McRecommends and see if there're any other authors that we can jointly enthuse wildly about.

    Toodles for now. :D

  19. Mac

Hello mate. It's been a while. How're tings witchoo?

  20. Mac

Helloooooo! Just dropping by to say 'hi' and wave frantically at you from across the pond. :006:

Actually, that doesn't look very frantic, now does it?!? And I'm not blue, either...

I hope you're doing okay, friend-of-mine, and that life is picking up a little. Take care. :friends0:

  21. Morning. Thought I'd say 'Hi' to another Harlan Coben fan. This forum's great, you know. Wait until you're really settled in and you'll never be off the thing!

    Hope you're having a lovely weekend. :D

  22. Well, there were a lot of 'well's between us, and I seem to have upped the ante more than somewhat, with the very first word of this message beginning with 'well'. So I shall stop.

How's life where you are? I have never been to South Africa, which is strange, as I have plenty of opportunity. My Uncle owns a wine estate somewhere over your way and he goes regularly. I should really pop over with him one day, if only to sample the goods! The wine is called Eaglevlei. Have you heard of it?

Anyway, enough of that. I trust you're having a great weekend. Pip pip.

  23. Aloha, friend-of-mine.

How're things going with you at this time, eh? Thought I would just drop by, say 'Aloha' and wish you nice things. Oh, yes!

    Hope you're excellent and tickety-boo. :friends0:

  24. Oooh, nay! I wouldn't be leaving this forum! I love it. I'm finding that when I write my reviews (in Mac Reads 2009) I'm simultaneously analysing why I'm feeling the way I do about the books I'm reading. It's really cathartic. I do find that I bore even myself sometimes, and feel sorry for my friends!

    I hope you're having a great weekend. :D

  25. Greetings Andy. How are you on this Sunday morning?
