    Hi there

    Hi there!
  2. Me and my brother were shocked too, definately hadn't thought about it...but it was really nice
  3. Like I said, it is set to be released in 2010, it will be directed by Petter Wbber (Girl with a Pear Earing) and will star Michael Fassbender as Heathcliff and Abbie Cornish as Catherine. I can't say that MF is totally ideal for the role, but he's a great actor and more suitable than RF! (I insist!!!) Well, the 1939 wasn't excacty bad, but there were some serious changes that made the story lose much of its meaning. I generally found LO good, but some very intense scenes like Catherine's death left me untouched
  4. Nope, and I'm not planning to read it, unless I've run out of books Seriously, i began to hear New Moon in an audiobook and left it. I found Bella so annoying and the writing bad enough to abandon it. And when I think I liked the movie so much... Anyway, I don't want to bore you by expounding what I didn't like about the whole story. I hope that twilighters are not going to hate me for not sharing their passion...
  5. I just saw the trailer from the version you're talking about. I thought it was horrible, even the 1939 version, which I didn't like, was way better than this , not to mention that Ralph Fiennes is just not suitable for the role. I sincerely hope that the version set to be released in 2010 is worthy of the book Ahh, the quotes from this book are priceless...
  6. Many say that they didn't like any of the characters...well that's generally true (except maybe Hareton for me), but I think that was one of the points of the book. It was a story about two unsympathetic people that, nevertheless, were deeply in love. That's my opinion
  7. I thought the trailer was really cool, I want to see it too

    Hello!

    Then we'll be fine!
  9. Ah yes, you're talking about "A Serious Man". It does come out this year. Am I the only one who isn't looking forward to "Star Trek"?
  10. A year full of promising and anticipated films. It has it all. Blockbusters like Harry Potter 6, New Moon, new films from acclaimed and beloved directors like Woody Allen, Ang Lee and Martin Scorcese, comebacks after a long time for directors like Jane Campion and James Cameron and, like every other year, it will have its indie surprizes. Personally, I can't wait for Jane Campion's new film, "Bright Star", a romantic drama about the affair between poet John Keats and his muse Fanny Brawne. Also, I'm looking forward to the bitersweet indie comedy "500 Days of Summer", Harry Potter and the new Scorcese film So, what about you? Is there a film that you can't wait for and is set to be released this year?
  11. Ceremony-Joy Division This is why events unnerve me, They find it all, a different story, Notice whom for wheels are turning, Turn again and turn towards this time, All she ask's the strength to hold me, Then again the same old story, Word will travel, oh so quickly, Travel first and lean towards this time. Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown, Heaven knows, it's got to be this time, Watching her, these things she said, The times she cried, Too frail to wake this time. Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown, Heaven knows, it's got to be this time, Avenues all lined with trees, Picture me and then you start watching, Watching forever, forever, Watching love grow, forever, Letting me know, forever. Heart And Soul (Part)-Joy Division Existence well what does it matter? I exist on the best terms I can. The past is now part of my future, The present is well out of hand. Walking In My Shoes-Depeche Mode I would tell you about the things they put me through The pain I've been subjected to But the Lord himself would blush The countless feasts laid at my feet Forbidden fruits for me to eat But I think your pulse would start to rush Now I'm not looking for absolution Forgiveness for the things I do But before you come to any conclusions Try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes You'll stumble in my footsteps Keep the same appointments I kept If you try walking in my shoes If you try walking in my shoes Morality would frown upon Decency look down upon The scapegoat fate's made of me But I promise now, my judge and jurors My intentions couldn't have been purer My case is easy to see I'm not looking for a clearer conscience Peace of mind after what I've been through And before we talk of any repentance Try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes You'll stumble in my footsteps Keep the same appointments I kept If you try walking in my shoes If you try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes These come in mind right now...
  12. Guy wants to buy a jeep so badly. Finally, after having made savings, he buys it. He parks it in front of his house. At night, a drunk man approaches, sees it and exclaims: "Wow!...jeep...BMW". He scratches on it:4X4. Next morning, the owner sees it. Shocked, he takes the car for repairing. At night, the drunk comes again. The situation continues for some days, until the service tells him: "Dude, we can't fix your car every day. Why don't you stick a ticket writing 4X4? This way, he won't scratch it again". Thinking that its a good idea he does it. Then, at night, comes the drunk once more. He exclaims "Wow!....jeep..BMW" and reads the ticket:4X4. He then writes: =16
  13. Yeah, you're right...
  14. Usually I buy or read books from authors I like or have heard good words about. I don't really pay attention to the cover, unless it's really nice, but generally I read the synopsis first. Besides, the covers can be misleading, a nice cover doesn't necessary means a good book (I have proof!)
  15. Firstly, I haven't watched the film yet, but you have to keep in mind that it is a 70-years-old film and back then, what was considered good acting was a lot different from today. However, I see what you mean, I don't like it very much either
  16. yeah, me too
  17. Fortunately, someone mentioned it . Also, did anybody else find the 1939 adaptation of Wuthering Heights bad? If felt like I was watching some other story . The Harry Potter films.......hmmm......the first two were good, I wouldn't exactly call the others bad, but they could have been better There are many, I see, that didn't like P&P.Why?:(Although I haven't read the book yet, I adored the film
  18. Well, I am a teenager and I read books...always did and always will. However, most teenagers don't read books...I mean, I think so
  19. I read one book at a time. I know people who read two or three together because they bore them a little, but me,if it bores me I will either try my best to finish it or abandon it. Books like the one I have in the middle right now it's another story . I pick it up whenever I remember to do so...
  20. Hmmm, interesting point..
  21. I've read:Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Macbeth,A Midsummer's Night Dream, The Taming Of The Shrew, Love's Labour's Lost and a few others... Personally, I found Macbeth horrible. It was the shortest of all and I couldn't finish it because it bored me so much (I managed it finally). The others were nice, especially Hamlet, R&J,Othello and tTotS. His writing is good, but sometimes VERY boring. And after a point, his stories are predictable. In comedy, everybody has a happy ending and in tragedies almost everybody dies...it's like you know what will happen from the beginning
  22. I'm mostly into rock, but I also like some electronic music. I also love to listen to instrumental music (f.e. from films).Mostly: Green Day The Killers Muse Arctic Monkeys Depeche Mode Placebo Sex Pistols Clash The Smiths Joy Division Franz Ferdinand Coldplay Jesus and Mary Chain Michael Nyman Dario Marianelli Philip Glass Zbegniew Preisner
  23. Sometimes yes, but after having finished the book, because otherwise I may not understand it or it can, you know, contain spoilers
  24. My favorite, haha . The twilight saga, honestly...I listened some of New Moon in audiobook and didn't listened again...horrible writing and bad messages (though I have to admit, I like the movie very much when I saw it:blush:-probably good direction)
  25. Atonement was a freaking amazing adaptation. Sense and Sensibility was good but could have been a little better. And as for Wuthering Heights, the 1939 adaptation was horrible, but they were planning to make a new one, so if this happens, let's hope it will be good
