Its just a personal thing really. Ever since I was a young kid I have always loved clay court tennis. When I was a junior I was dreadful on clay. The kids I would beat on the hard courts would whip me, I just became intrigued by how different it was. I have always liked the clay courters as well, back through the years.

I hope they show it so you get to see it. IMO the French is the best Slam to watch of all of them. It is the first overseas Slam I would go to if I could choose.
  3. Yeah, that is what we are going to do. It doesn't stop her incessant nagging/longing though, haha.

  4. No worries Kylie.

Yeah, I loved London. It was definately my favourite place in Europe. The only downside is that Emily had a bit too much fun and has been harassing me to go back over there, haha.

  5. Hi Kylie, how's it going?

Just wondering if I could ask you if you read much "chick-lit" and if you do, could you give me some recommendations of some chick-lit books that are not too "chick-litty" if that makes any sense.

I've read one or two lately and I have found them to be pretty enjoyable, especially for between books that were deep and emotional.

    Thanks Kylie,

    Dan.

Federer gave Nadal a little bit of a caning this morning. It was straight sets - four and four. I wouldn't read too much into it though, whilst I am happy for Fed it was the worst possible clay court for Nadal and apparently he was stuffed after a marathon against Novak the previous night. Still, should add at least a little more interest for the French.

They despise each other. Del Potro claimed Murray's mother was coaching him and hit a ball at him in a match they played in Rome last year. Supposedly it got heating in the changing rooms after the match. Del Potro could get the better of Murray in that one. Andy still doesn't look very comfortable on the clay and Del Potro has been hitting the ball very cleanly this week.

Yeah. Rafa is just too good on clay.
  9. Haha, goodnight.

Glad to hear you are actually going to sleep!

  10. Wow, 4 in 4 days? That is rough. I remember I had two on the same day in my second last semester and it nearly killed me. Good luck with them, it will feel good when you are finished for good.

  11. How the hell can you be up at 4am!!! LOL, you are nuts!

It is a pretty standard Friday here. It is 12:30. I am just working/browsing book forum/browsing Amazon/praying for the end of the day. It is the middle of the day on Fridays when I realise how much I love the weekend.

  12. Treats are good. I think the reason why I failed on so many previous dieting attempts was that I just was trying to be too intense. You can't cut out everything you enjoy otherwise it just wears you down and becomes too much and you just fall off the wagon altogether!

  13. Thanks for that review, sounds like a book I might like.
  14. Yeah, you are a motivator. Once you keep recording losses you will become addicted to the feeling and it gets easier and easier, you just have to get into the rhythm.

I could probably lose more than that. I don't exactly know my ideal weight is. I was in really good shape when I finished school at 17 and I was 90kg then. I figure I am pretty big though, I am almost 2 metres tall so 100kgs sounds healthy.

  15. It is Friday, so I'm pretty good. One more day then the week-end!

Your efforts have actually motivated me also. I have commenced my conquest to get below 100kgs. I am 108 right now so that is what, like, 18 pounds or so? It is much less than I lost last year but it will be more difficult to lose as I'm not quite so fat now.

  16. Well done on the loss Roxi, great start!

Monaco is a great clay-courter and it is pretty much all he plays on. It shows just how well Fernando Verdasco is playing right now, because he made Monaco look amateur this morning. Ferrer has really dropped off lately. He doesn't seem to be hitting the ball anywhere near as well as he was a couple of years ago. Federer whipped Blake, which is good. I'm not a Blake fan. Funnily, Kholschreiber didn't even bother against Nadal - he pulled out. Probably a wise move. Some massive matches tonight: Rafa v Verdasco Federer v A-Rod Del Potro v Murray (that one is a real grudge match) Should be good.
  18. FWIW my girlfriend is a high school English teacher and she taught 'Dirt Music' last semester and did not like it at all, which is unusual for her.

Haha, yeah I guess. Novak played pretty well last night. He beat Hernandez, who isn't too bad on clay, pretty easily. Federer played pretty well also against Soderling. Rafa whipped Melzer too. No surprise there.

It is all about the defending of points. Clearly Murray didn't do too well in the early-mid part of last season whilst Djokovic did. Therefore Novak had a lot more points to defend than Murray and even though he has been doing better than Murray he hasn't been defending his points sufficiently to hold his spot. I hope that made sense.

It is funny how just as Djokovic picks up his form and Andy's drops off, they swap rankings. Especially seeing Murray has been playing better than Djokovic all year up until the past month or so.

Just think of it as extra incentive to get yourself to the Open!

They don't even have the tournament in Adelaide anymore do they? They moved it to Brisbane this year. So yeah, lol, it is the Aussie Open or nothing I am afraid. Rafa's outfits are usually pretty horrific. Those ridiculous pants he used to wear were pretty funny.
  25. That is pretty awesome that you have already finished. It took me an absolute eternity to actually complete a degree. I thought I might die there at one point.

I agree, checkouts are horrible. Sometimes I had to substitute onto checkouts and I absolutely loathed it. It is so monotonous and you cop all the abuse for things that you had nothing to do with. I hope you manage to find something you would prefer doing.
