  1. That's right. Compassion and Mercy by Jodi Piccoult are the same book
  2. They are lovely. I've seen some in Waterstone's before which had covers which looked almost like decorative wallpaper, I can't remember what publishing house it is though, or find them on the website. I'm always attracted to them instore though
  3. lol I can see that happening to me! I have already added 2 to my wishlist after joining here and that was only, what, Tuesday? (And already addicted, it doesn't bode well!)
  4. I hadn't realised I even recognised her until I read it
  5. We talked about that last page maybe a video he recorded for a special event (thinking about it maybe Rachel gets married, that would be an excuse for a video) or a flashback type scene.
  6. My TBR list tends to be 1-3 books long, because I'll buy some in the Waterstones offer, read them, then buy 3 more (it is really an expensive habit I should get out of!). But sometimes it's longer because I've been given a book as a present, or because I forgot to bring a book wih me when I go to the gym (I tend to go to the gym then to Starbucks to get some rest and energy before the mile walk home, and I read while I'm there) so pop into somewhere to buy myself something to read.
  7. I second The Hobbit, although I never managed to get into Lord of the Rings
  8. Mine only has about 3 and they're all ones my Mum lent me as I couldn't get as far as the bookshop until about a week ago and I haven't had a chance yet
  9. I've been having to steal my Mum's books since my accident as I ran out of books on my TBR pile, so technically I don't, just a stack of books my Mum has lent me and I might read
  10. Maybe Susan, Jerry or Frank? Or one of the nurse, a lot of them have been on a long time. I don't know about the blond intern but the brunette was in Roswell, and Charlie Wilson's War. Edit: Just looked her up on IMDB here she's been in a few things, only one I recognise her from is she played Lena in Brothers and Sisters. Other than that only thing she's been in a few times is Jericho and John from Cincinnati (neither of which I've heard of)
  11. I don't tend to either but here are some I liked: - Harry Potter (fantasy) - Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams (sci-fi, comedy) - His Dark materials (Northern Lights/The golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass) by Phillip Pulman (fantasy) - Truth or Dare by Celia Rees (horror/mystery) I read all of those in my early to mid teens
  12. I am kind of tempted to give up on Rachel Ray, but I'm only one the third chapter and the first 2 were basically scene setting, so I'll try and keep at it for a while longer
  13. Or someone getting married who has been in it forever...
  14. I've only read the first Twilight book but all the same I say the Harry Potter books are much better. Bella irritates me with all her 'oh Edward is great, Edward is perfect, I love Edward' stuff. The story was quite good, but I didn't think it was especially well written, it put me in mind of fanfic (and I have actually read better fanfic). I know I wouldn't pay for the rest of the books, but I would read them if they were free, there is something about them which makes them very readable. Harry Potter on the other hand. Maybe not literary genius, but I love the stories. It really gets you thinking and has hidden depths. Even the characters I don't like have a sort of intriguing quality which makes them interesting if not likeable
  15. they should that would be great
  16. I'm drinking hot chocolate right now, just Cadbury's instant stuff but still it's nice
  17. That one is funny in a stupid way. It's better than the glade one for the air freshener with the sensor anyway. I used to love the Honda adverts, they seem to have disappeared recently
  18. It really is, and lamb is my favourite meat which helps

    Hello!

Hi Clarie, I did notice a few of your posts. I'm pretty new to the forum everyone's very friendly, I already feel like I've been hear more than a few days
  20. Yeah it really does seem unnecessary. They did the same with P.S I love you, if anything it took away from the story in that
  21. The curry ended up being Lamb Rogan Josh, if you're wondering. And lovely it was too
  22. I might see the shopoholic one, although they are by no means my favourite books. Are they planning on doing all of them does anyone know? How would shopoholic abroad work if she's already in America?
  23. that was what I was thinking too
  24. That's weird Some of them it seems more artificial to have coming back than others.
  25. Yes I remember it being nice. It was a good few years ago, and we only visited for a day, barely saw more than the Abbey (and counted the steps) but I remember it was a lovely place. I wouldn't mind visiting again.
