  1. Well I don't like scary books but I did like this one. Despite it giving me nightmares! Maybe if you're just wiser than me and don't read in in bed before sleeping
  2. I still haven't seen Twilight, but I wasn't especially impressed by the book. Will probably see it at some point though. I thought the P.S I love you film was pretty good, but nothing compared to the book, and they changed so much!
  3. They have? Meh, I was doubtful before but now I really am. I'll probably still see it though just to see how it comes out
  4. Maybe I should put it on the top of my wishlist then
  5. Spagetti Bolegnase for me.

yeah maybe I should, I'd never really considered it. I'm sure I'd find it easier now

Yeah I think that was it. I was about 9 at the time so I don't remember clearly. It was about the same time as I discovered Harry Potter so maybe I got distracted by that

Oh yes I've read Catcher in the Rye too, I liked it but I don't think I got it the way most people seem too. Treasure Island was one of the ones I gave up on

If I ever do I will! I don't tend to read classics, the only one I've ever finished is Jane Eyre, and I had to read that one for school. I like the idea of classics, I just always seem to give up on them
  10. Maybe, I don't know, I only joined yesterday. There's a 2008 and 2009 list at the front of the thread though. I kind of presumed 2009 wasn't complete yet
  11. I can read quite well on buses, I've even missed stops because of it. I can read in cafes too, otherwise I would never get my coffee! My favourite places to read though are curled up on the sofa or in bed. I used to love reading in the bath too when we had one
  12. Yes that's fine. Yeah, I wouldn't want to end up stuck in a lift with a boring book.
  13. Ok here goes....in sort of order... 1) His Dark Materials- Phillip Pulman 2) Harry Potter series- JK Rowling 3) Captain Correli's Mandolin- Louis de Burnieres 4) The Time Traveller's Wife- Audrey Niffenegger 5) (oh no only one space for 2 books...err) Chocolat- Joanne Harris 6) would be Birdsong by Sebastian Fawkes, in case you were wondering
  14. I might too actually, or just gush . I guess it depends how long you're stuck in the lift, if it's a long time I probably couldn't stay silent.
  15. No, I would like to though. I want to read the book version of Slumdog Millionaire too, but I can't remember what it's called. I loved that film so I hope the book will be good too
  16. They made a movie of Coraline? I bet that's weird...the book is strange enough. Hopefully I'm seeing Benjamin Button this weekend when my boy comes down, presuming the snow has stopped enough for me not to fall over on my crutches!
  17. Same here, none of my family likes it though, there's always someone who moans when I'm watching it. Usually I watch it when everyone is at work/school though so it doesn't really matter. There are some advantages to being stuck at home.

Thanks. No it's a classic, about a girl called Rachel Ray and her family. I haven't read more than a chapter of it yet so it's a bit hard to tell you what it's about! Thanks for all the welcomes
  19. I probably mainly read contemporary fiction, but I quite like mysteries and fantasy too. Oh and I read quite a lot of historical fiction too
  20. Something easy to get lost in! Maybe one of the Harry Potters (possibly order of the pheonix cause it's the longest, or Deathly Hallows cause I practically know the others off by heart). Or maybe a Jodi Piccoult, I haven't read Change of Heart yet
  21. Stephen Fry, I'm sure he would be great to chat with. Or JK Rowling, she could answer all my questions about Harry Potter- I'd probably drive her crazy!
  22. I read this about a year ago and can remember it being good (I can't remember if I gave it away actually, I remember thinking I probably wouldn't read it again, but actually I want to read Dracula then I might want to read it again). It made me want to visit all the places as well, especially Budapest. Only downside was I kept reading it before bed and having weird/bad dreams, but somehow couldn't stop myself reading it before bed
  23. His Dark Materials is one of my favourite books. I like Northern Lights best and probably the Amber Spyglass the lease but love them all. I read Once Upon a Time in the North at Christmas too which was really good, just a bit too short
  24. Probably a cat, I lounge too much to be anything else
  25. I actually didn't find Plain Truth as good as some of the others. Although having said that it was a little different to most of Piccoult's other novels so it as a nice change. It's been a while since I read it, but I do remember being surprised by the twist at the end. It was good, maybe I should go back and read it again, after I've finished re-reading Nineteen Minutes
