  1. What a fun day that would be! I mean.. I can even do the outdoors for that kinda thing. I envision magazines.. yummy alcoholic beverages.. some Wheat Thins.. and possibly some binoculars? Just so if there's a detail we spot, we don't have to get up and move cloesr.

  2. Yes.. It IS scary! My mentality is apparently very powerful when in self-preservation mode. ;)

Oh I've heard about this chopping wood sans shirt thing.. You like to drag up chairs and make it a spectator event. I wonder if your BF would think I was strange if I brought my chair over, too. I can watch while practicing saying his name over and over.. because THAT wouldn't seem like I was crazy. ;)

  3. You could be right -- I can't stand being miserable, and if I can do anything to make myself not miserable, I'll be doing it. India was probably just that.

That's fine.. you can be all "No. Let's not stay here. Let's not enjoy the summer. Let's not hang out with anyone at the summer place." That seems effective, no?? ;) Haha.. the "view" is good.. only you!

  4. I think you're right.. my mom would have HATED India for the most part. Now that I'm out of there, I look back and wonder how I lived there for 6 months, and even more, liked the place! It's crazy what it does to you!

And if you convince your BF to come to China, you may as well make HK a stop.. it's supposed to be wonderful for shopping, plus Iiiiiii'm there! ;)

Hahhahah.. you MUST show me photos if his friends have taken ridiculous things. That's going to be hilarious. That's something fun to look forward to, yes??

  5. Oh, you're fine.. I only kid about the hockey talk. ;) Besides, it generally leads to some funny stories.

Nope, Mom didn't visit while in India -- she wasn't able to take off enough time from work to make it worth the long, expensive trip over. I got to go back over Thanksgiving/Christmas, but this is the first time I'll see her since then! I think Raja's brother is coming for a cple of weeks in July, too.. we should have quite a few visitors.

You keep stitching away.. if it brings you online so I can chatter away, stitch stitch stitch! ;) Is this the gift for your friend you've been talking about? You need to send me some pics so I can see what you're doing-- once you get your camera back of course. :)

  6. Yes, I'm super ready to go.. and Mom booked her flight today; shell be visiting from June 3 - June 24th! YEY! I think we'll be packing Tues and Wed and then be on our way.. so excited. :)

It sounds like your weekend has been pretty busy -- Are you finding that less internet time has helped you get more accomplished?

Hockey, hockey, hockey.. always hockey w/you . ;)

  7. Oh, goody! I love messages.. I will happily go look. :)

I'm good.. Raja actually had to go into work today at 3pm for a few hours, so I'm catching up on the boards while he's gone. Moving to HK Thursday.. very exciting! Had a fun weekend... All in all, we are good. :)

    How was yours?

  8. Hiya! :) How ya doing w/The Skin Gods? Where are you in the story now?

  9. Hi Glowmay! I just noticed from the "Country" poll that you used to live in Hong Kong.. My husband and I are moving there next week. We'll be living in Tsim Sha Tsui (I tihnk I spelled that right), 1 MTR stop from Central where my husband will be working. Any helpful tips I need to know? :)

  10. Got The Skin Gods this weekend, so I'll read it first, then move on to Broken Angels.. Can't wait! :)

  11. Oh no! I'm probably going to be super confused then.. It's been years since I read the Little Women novel, but I almost know the movie by heart. I'm in for some confusion, I am sure!

  12. Sounds interesting.. I'll definitely check those out! I've never read a rom-comeby a male author, so this could be good. :)

Yey for your slew of books .. which ones did you get?

  13. I bet you are resting now, finally.. :) You must have been exhausted! Cleaning will make you so tired, but the end result is worth it. I'm a big fan of organizing and tidying -- it makes things feel so much more "together," at the risk of sounding like a major dork. ;)

We haven't decided just yet about the Singapore thing.. Well.. WE sort of have decided that he'll go to his boss and see if there's a way to work on some of the Singapore projects FROM Hong Kong via internet conferencing and possibly flying back once in a while, but not sure how that will work.. We're going to look at some apartments here today in the area just in case we end up having to stay. I'll keep you posted. :)

  14. Ah ha! Didn't know that about it being about the childrens' lives.. I'm still learning about the sequels and things . :) Thanks for the info.. Hopefully I'll get my hands on The Good Wives soon!

  15. Haha.. so funny that you can't stand Winona Ryder.. Cracks me up :) Things like that really can influence whether or not we pick up a book though, you're so right! Glad you liked it.. I will definitely keep it on my TBR list after your comments!

Isn't there another sequel as well?- Jo's Boys or something? Do you think you'll read that one also?

  16. Hey Frankie! How did you like the Wives book by Louisa May Alcott? I've read Little Women and it's one of my faves.. I only recently learned about the sequels!

  17. I haven't heard of either of these, Mac. What kind of things do they write? I'd love to check them out and see if maybe I'd like their stuff.. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

  18. Oh, I'm fine.. We got the news today that Raja's boss would love for him to stay in Singapore the entire 6 months, rather than move to Hong Kong as planned in 10 days. So that's a little bit of a tumble, and we're not sure what decision to make, but other than that it was a great day. Laid out.. Finished a book.. started a new one.. Really can't complain too much. :)

How is your day going so far? Anything good, bad, funny, sad, etc going on?

  19. Just a quick note that I finished Grave Sight today.. loved it! :) Such a good book.. Can't wait to get to her others. Thanks for your reviews and recommendations for it. :)

  20. I need a drink, is what I need. Raja called me today and said his boss here in Singapore brought him into his office today and asked him if he'd considering staying on his team here rather than continuing on to Hong Kong. Both of us want to go to Hong Kong as planned, because HK is supposed to be so much fun, but now we don't know what to do.... My life is like a snow globe.. Someone just likes to pick it up and shake it every once in a while.

What's the project, just in case I decide not to go the alcoholic route.

  21. Oh, goodness! I was worried about that! I'll go back and pick up "The Skin Gods" and read that before "Broken Angel".. as long as it's really okay about not being able to get "The Rosary Girls."

    Thanks for letting me know!

  22. Hi Charm! :) Picked up my first book by Richard Montanari today! I asked for "The Rosary Girls" but they didn't have that one, so I ended up picking b/t "Broken Angels" and "The Skin Gods." I picked "Broken Angels" .. have you read this one? And I'm not doing anything out of order am I? The bookshop owner said he didn't think "Broken Angels" was a series book.

  23. You ARE having a crazy schedule.. You were out and about for almost longer than I was awake yesterday ;)

The hunt continues.. it's going to be a long search, I think. I need to find the perfect things, and that means having patience. Today is swimsuit shopping today, which is a bit less disconcerting as they don't cost as much and I'll just buy a new one next year.

I hope you have a good day today, despite the craziness.. Sometimes the busiest days are the best ones, though :)

    xoxo

  24. Yes! Busy weekend! We are handbag and watch hunting for me.. It's a very tiring search! ;)

Sorry I missed you.. You have to go so quickly. :( I should get out and about too and start doing something. I've been writing my bound-to-be not-so-popular review of TTTW instead of doing something productive on a pretty day.

The ceiling is back in order.. Although the superintendent was none too pleased with Raja's doings. ;)

  25. Hi Charm :) Sorry for the delay in response.. I was busy all weekend and not able to get to the computer much. :) Yes, Lisa Gardner apparently writes some things comparable to Gerritsen.. I haven't read any of hers, but I always see their books near each other in the bookstores, and on Amazon's Listmania, they're often in a lot of the same lists. No big deal.. I was just curious if you'd read any of her so I could get an opinion on if she's worth a shot. :)

Things are good here .. I'm really enjoying Singapore and we have a little less than two weeks until we're supposed to move to Hong Kong. So all's well right now! :)

Hmm.. Hunchback.. That could be interesting.. I may try to get my hands on that one too, for the classics reading circle. :)
