  1. Awww boo :( I remember the planned trips to see Raja that got botched at the last minute unexpectedly.. It is a horrible feeling! At least he will be there Wednesday.. That saves the whole situation! :) I hope you get to go with him for the 5 days also. So fun! What an emotional rollercoaster you're on over there! ;)

The move was hectic but good.. and now we are all moved in, happily buying the last pieces of our furniture, and taking advantage of being in the city during the weekends. So far, so good. :) The job search is offically underway for me.. Please pray that someone calls me before I FREAK OUT! ;)

  2. Hiya! Wasn't this weekend the one you came to the US to visit your OH? How did it go? :)

  3. Oooh.. I hate that when you're reading a book and you have this feeling that you've read it before but can't quite remember.. I'm always so disappointed by that. :( I hope you enjoy it through the end and at least eventually figure out if you've read the story before!

  4. Yes yes! We are back, mostly settled, and it's back to reading and BCF for me while Raja watches sports.. just like how we left it. ;)

Things are good.. New apartment, new furniture, new(ish) city.. now just need a job and new friends! :D

You are still doing your internship yes? A few more months left, right? And how's BF? (Look at my discretion.. I'm the best secret keeper EVER!)

    xoxo .. yeeeeeeey!! ii again!

  5. Hi there :) We are good.. We haven't moved just yet, just took a weekend trip to mainland China this past weekend. We will be going back to the States on Sept 18th.. We have 2 weddings the following weekend, and that next week will be when we are moving. It's looking like Manhattan is going to be the final destination, although Baltimore is a distant possibility as well. Hopefully we will find out soon! :)

    How was your weekend?

  6. Glad to hear the French reception went well! If you have any pictures uploaded on any site, I'd love to see some. :) January, huh? Not much longer.. That's going to be so exciting!

Shenzhen was great.. And we leave Thursday for Thailand. Hopefully it'll be fun! :) We will go back to the States after that.. looking like Manhattan could be the final destination, but nothing set in stone yet. We shall see!

  7. Hey no problem!! I probably forget half of the messages on here.. It's hard to keep everything straight! Between emails, Facebook, text messages, private messages, I figure I do pretty well if I get around to half of them. ;)

Things are good here.. We're going to Shenzhen, China this weekend, and Bangkok the next. Cramming everything in since our time is almost up!

How long until the wedding ceremonies start?

  8. Totally American here.. Born in Alabama, and lived there until I was 25 and was married. Husband is from Alabama also.

As for HK, we LOVE it here. If this place was in the States, we'd probably settle down here for a long while. There's tons to do, it's really nice here, there are mountains and beaches, and people are nice. Plus the Asia market is hot right now in the finance sector, so business is thriving and the economy is still growing, despite the hard time globally.

If you ever get the chance to come to HK to work, do it! What kind of work do you do, by the way?

  9. Hello! :)

So Texas it is, huh? :) I've never been there myself, but we have 2 good friends living out there, and they love it! I'm glad you've gotten to spend quite a bit of time there, visiting your partner. My (now) husband and I spent the first 8 or so years in different states most of the time, so I so get the going back and forth thing.. It's definitely necessary, and usually fun! :)

  10. I agree completely.. I am a BIG proponent of getting away from your small town where you grew up. I had a great childhood, even loved high school, but I still feel really grateful to have a separate adult life from my child life. Just something about knowing people look at you and don't see your past 25 years all in one quick flash. :)

  11. Heh.. You joke, but I harbor a secret desire to live in England. I think it's from all these damn books I read by British authors.. ;) Raja and I talked about looking for opps in London, but unfortunately, the London market for Citi isn't the major player it used to be since all of the banking shifts, so it wasn't a very good option. :(

It looks, right now, like we may end up back in Manhattan which is very exciting! I just find something magical about NYC, even after living there a short time. The change this time would be that I'd be working there, and I haven't attempted a job search in Manhattan before.. a bit daunting!

  12. It has a FEW twists in it! It made the book REALLY good for me. The first maybe 70-80 pages were kinda rough because I felt like it was too formulaic chick lit, but soon after that, I was sucked in. The twists are REALLY good in this one.. I'd say get your hands on it if you can. :)

  13. Back again, BookBee! :)

I finished "The Last to Know" today actually, and ended up really liking the book.. Just wanted to update you. :)

  14. Hi BookBee!

Quick question for you, since I know you like Melissa Hill.. I read her book "The Last to Know" and loved it. Now I'm reading her "Not What You Think" and not liking it nearly as much so far. Have you read this one by any chance?

  15. I am so glad to hear that he is able to recover the data (probably) ! Wonderful news.. I hope it's going okay :)

  16. Ha.. I totally figured you got bored for some of that nature! You just seem to move so fast, that I doubt most things in life catch up to you right away. :)

Raja is all better now, and it's already the weekend again! Him being off work Monday really made the week fly by. :) I BARELY play golf.. Raja's the golfer. I didn't even go play with him on the trip -- I just stayed by the pool and beach while he went. Wherever we move next, I think I'm going to go with him more since it's a good quality-time activity that he really enjoys.

I'm sorry you're by yourself now and everyone is gone. :( At least you're going to be around your long-lost friend and you guys can cook up all kinds of stuff!

  17. LOL.. Of course you're already bored at work! That's hilarious. :D

The trip was very nice.. golfing, spa-ing, eating/going out (Cebu's actually a really fun city!), and laying out.. such a relaxing wkend. :) Raja accidentally forgot and drank the water though, so he's felt pretty rough for the last 24 hours -- he's much better by now, though! :)

How was your first weekend after working regular hours for a while?

  18. Just read about your dreadful computer problems .. :( Did any of your data get recovered from the PC place?

  19. So glad to hear your vacation was relaxing and stress-free. I usually opt for the relaxation vacations as opposed to the hectic touring.. I like both and they both have their pros, but there's nothing for me like relaxing, taking it easy, and reading while on vaca. :)

Ooh.. you're over halfway done with the prep for the French reception! Yey! What kind of appetizers did you guys pick to do? I'm sure there were lots of yummy ones. :)

Raja is hopefully on the mend.. thinks it could just be some neck pain from staring at a computer so much at work. We're trying heat and new monitor height and all that stuff, so we'll see how it goes. :)

  20. Haha.. No problem, Mac! :) I'm not so good at remembering birthdays myself, so I never expect anyone to remember mine or send wishes on time.. I like the belated ones JUST as much! :) Thanks for your msg!

I' m definitely experiencing food.. I've been cooking like a maniac for the last couple of months and trying all kinds of new recipes! So 'Suzy Homemaker' over here. ;)

How is the new job coming along??

  21. So how was it?? You are back now, yes? I hope you enjoyed!

We just went out with friends one night and spent a lot of time on the roof at the hot tub and pool.. Raja not feeling 100% so we took it pretty easy. :) Nothing as exciting going on here as your vacation, I'm sure!

  22. Have a wonderful long weekend! It sounds fabulous. :)

  23. Thanks for my birthday wishes, Paula! It's NEVER too late to celebrate a birthday. :) Thank you for thinking of me.

  24. I see it's your birthday! :) Have a happy one!

  25. Thank you, Mia, for my nice birthday message! So nice of you to think of me. :)
