  1. I agree, I hate all of those kind of abuse adverts, I understand why they need to be shown, but every advert break for hours at a time is a bit unfair to the watcher
  2. I think Coolio is really nice, but don't really have opinions on any of the others yet
  3. I've read this, there's a second book that follows on from this also, I don't know if you know about it, it's called When Daddy Comes Home
  4. I like books like this, but I think it's because I was abused as a kid myself and so I have a strange attraction to these type of books, I try not to read them too often though, they just make me depressed!
  5. I adore this show so much! And I've been following this season when it airs in the states though it's been on hiatus for about 1 1/2 months, though I can't wait for it to pick up again, and I'll be watching it when it begins here too, I'd imagine in the middle of january if anything, that's when it starts up again in the states, and we're usually about half a season behind. I just found this "UK Series 4 "Lazarus Rising" 25th January 2009"
  6. I would assume he would expect a lot of critism, with it being such a massive and much loved role, admittedly it's not nice, but with him not being well known and being the youngest yet, a lot of people will be unimpressed
  7. I like Kathy Reichs and have some of her books, but have to admit I prefer Patricia Cornwell, especially her earlier books, both authors write along a very similar line
  8. I wasn't impressed I have to admit, BF was absolutely horrified. I guess I kinda had my heart set on Paterson Joseph, who was widely rumoured to be the next doctor. I just think this one is far too young, and he looks a little weird
  9. Yeah, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth eh!
  10. I felt it was a shame she didn't add more than 5 very short tales, and I agree about the Dumbledore parts too
  11. They're lovely Echo!
  12. Synopsis: What would possess a gifted young man recently graduated from college to literally walk away from his life? In April 1992 a young man from a well-to-do family hitchhiked to Alaska and walked alone into the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. His name was Christopher Johnson McCandless. He had given $25,000 in savings to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions, burned all the cash in his wallet, and invented a new life for himself. Four months later, his emaciated body was found in an abandoned bus by a moose hunter. How McCandless came to die is the unforgettable story of Into the Wild. Review: I wanted to read this after watching the film that was based on this book, but I think I would say, the film is better. The book would have been much better if it had been written chronologically and without wandering off to talk about other people who have "walked into the wild" and not survived. The author even wrote a whole chapter about himself, which I had no interest in, so skimmed past. It all just seemed so irrelevent to the story about Chris McCandless. But I can understand why Chris did what he did, to just lose everything material and get away from civilisation must be nice, but one tiny mistake cost him his life, and that is what is very tragic about this story. I've given it 3/5 just because I disliked the format of the book, but the actual story of Chris McCandless is 5/5, but I'd recommend the film rather than the book.

  18. Hmm I think for some of the smaller countries we might need to do books about that country rather than by an author, as I don't think it'll be possible to find translated books from every country
