  1. Yeah I always have a fairly large pile waiting, that way I have a range to choose from because some books you just have to be in the "mood" to read I find
  2. Yeah I scrap too, and sometimes use small pieces of left over pretty paper as a bookmark
  3. I'm the same, my BF is a complete night owl, so I read a lot in the am hours
  4. I have to say I love the Twilight saga covers I much prefer the simplistic approach to covers, and I have to admit, pretty ones do attract me more than trashy covers. While looking for these covers though, I saw that they've released Twilight with this cover I have to say I hate it
  5. Yes, I really loved Tess Gerritsen this year, I read about 8 or so of her books and loved every single one!
  6. That sounds lovely! I've never come across metal bookmarks before, where do you get them from?
  7. Nooo! There's no such thing as a book nerd, merely a book lover!
  8. I'm now up to 74 tbr and over a 100 that I have on my wishlist, so I think I need to whittle down my tbr pile first
  9. Yeah, I'd have to say Twilight (& series) as my favourite this year also
  10. Yowch, you're paying double the price just for slightly different covers, I prefer the last of the lot too, but I know you dislike them. As for the others, personally I don't think I could bring myself to pay that much more just for different covers, but I think it depends on how much it means to you really, if it's really important that you have those particular covers then treat yourself to them!!
  11. I've just finished this and thought it was a fantastic book
  12. I've just finished Marley & Me, very sad
  13. Sentimentally, I have a book that my granddad lent me just before he passed away, so I treasure it also, I have a copy of Hollow Tree House, that I was give as a christmas present when I was 7, it's still in okayish condition which is surprising, and it has a hand written note in the front from the person who got it for me
  14. I watched the show also and that's how I came across the books, they're also on my tbr list for next year
  15. I loved that show, so gutted when it got cancelled, and I agree, he was great as Joan's brother
  16. I've decided I want to read several different series next year, as I don't generally read them, I have about 10 listed so far that I want to read, plus a list of general books and cook books that I want, and I just add/remove as time progresses
  17. I thought it was a bit out there like Roxi said, and I wasn't that impressed on the first read through, but it's growing on me, and I'm just used to it now, so it doesn't bother me. So whilst I don't like it as much as the first 3, I don't hate it either
  18. I've virtually all of her non-fiction and I have her fiction book, but haven't been able to get into it yet, will give it another shot soon though
  19. Just had a look at the sony e-reader and it does look pretty good, thanks for the info about backlighting, it certainly makes it more appealing, shame it's so expensive for not only the reader, but the ebooks too.
  20. Yeah, I have to admit I'm exactly the same when it comes to them having the same style covers
  21. I do like to keep my books in a good condition but don't get too anal about spine creasing as it's inevitable sometimes, i don't like creases or page bends though i must admit
  22. That's always the way though, we're always the last to get anything!
