I suppose with the credit crunch and with people increasingly buying online, sadly, this will only increase. We have several book shops here, though all are big chains I think, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some go.

Thanks for all the hugs He has 2 little girls of his own now and a boy on the way in march, and he loves his kids to bits and of course can't wait for his little boy! But I think, he has a tenderness that he might not have otherwise had, so even bad things teach you things in life I think

Well in the Faraway tree story, there's a land where a lady spanked them, that's now been changed to her shouting. I'm sure there are more, I read about them on her wiki page, and on the page to the faraway tree series page. I think it's really sad that they've changed them though, I wonder if I'll be able to get a hold of the older editions that haven't been changed.

As for books, I have a load of chick lit that I bought last year when I fancied them and then went off chick lit, and so haven't touched any of them, going to have to dip into them soon to get my TBR pile down! Other than those books, I have The Girls and The Memory Keepers Daughter, that were really popular last year, but I've just not fancied them since buying

It was the Enid Blyton books that really drew me into reading as a kid, I would sit and read for hours, I'm hoping to re-buy some of them as I don't have any anymore, but was sad to find out that they've changed a lot of the stories to make them politically correct which is a little sad. Yes I admit even I found "Fannie" a funny name as a kid, but to change it to Frannie is madness!

This drives me mad, I hate stickers on anything full stop, why do they do it!?
