  1. Wow, that's so nice. I wish I'd had something like that . Ok, I'm going to go for Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman for a few reasons. Firstly, it's one of my all time favourites and I figured that definitely counts for something, hehe. Secondly, it was the first book to have a huge impact on me. I would say it changed my life but I think that's very cheesy, but you get the idea. Thirdly, it inspired me to write myself. I've also had it six years now which I supposes isn't very long to those who have had books for 20+ years. But, it was my favourite all through my teens and I can see myself loving it for years to come.
  2. I found both these books amazing and read them both easily in a day. I definitely recommend them!
  3. Yes, definitely. With Nineteen Minutes, I was torn and switching 'sides' all the way through. But, like you say, I think that's the whole point. I like that about her novels though, the way you can see conflicting sides.
  4. I think it's a habit for me too; I've always only read one book at a time. I think I'd get a bit lost and confused if I tried to read more than one!
  5. These are my books at Uni, piled on the floor because I don't have any shelves! The rest are on shelves at home . I tend to keep all my books in my room as we don't have bookshelves anywhere else in our house; my mum reads occasionally and my dad doesn't read at all so it would only be my books on them!
  6. I thought about getting that but something stopped me at the last minute. Probably because I read three of her books in a row and I got a bit fed up of them . You'll have to let me know what you think!
  7. Good review! I'm pretty sure that Plain Truth was the first Jodi Picoult book that I read and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. It was years ago but I do remember it had me hooked and I really couldn't wait for the conclusion. It wasn't one of my favourites by her but it did make me want to go out and buy more by her. My favourites are The Pact and Nineteen Minutes.
  8. Yep, exactly. I'm about to go off to bed in a moment, not to sleep though. I'm going to try and read some more of The Host. It's just starting to pick up after 65 pages, thank god! On topic: Well, it's 01:33 and I'm about to read so that answers the question G'night all. (That's supposed to be me reading in bed...)
  9. I wouldn't recommend P.S I love you at all, I couldn't even finish it. And I watched the movie today and I wasn't impressed with that either. Sorry! I know Cecelia Ahern likes her 'fairytales' but when you see it on the screen, you see how unbelievable it really is. I do like her books but when I come to actually think of whichs ones I would recommened to someone who's never read her before...I'm a bit stuck. I did enjoy 'Where rainbows end' when I first read it but that was years ago and I'm not sure if the style would bug me now I'm a little older?
  10. Hello!
  11. Hello. :006:Welcome to the forum! I like your name
  12. I sometimes do this. I can't help myself. It's worse if I'm really into the book and I'm anxious about what's going to happen. I totally ruined Breaking Dawn. I flicked to the end page even before I'd started the book and saw the 'Vampire index' and saw some of the names on there. That was stupid.
  13. Same here. At least, I don't intentionally put music on whilst reading or I would get distracted as well . I do like music playing when I'm writing though.
  14. I've never heard of it but it sounds pretty good
  15. Haha, aww, bless him. Although, you might have a point. He is very simple
  16. I'm the same. I don't think I've ever bought a book with characters from the movie on the front. I like to imagine my own versions of the characters
  17. Yeah, I agree. He's by far the best .
  18. Hey, Happy Birthday!

  19. Sorry about that huge list everyone!
  20. I like a lot of 'popular' music but my favourite band is Paramore. Pretty much the only thing I listen to on my laptop is the playlist I made up and that has: Feeder Yellowcard A change of pace Goo goo dolls Jimmy eat world Taking back sunday Papa roach Avril Lavigne Meg & Dia 30 seconds to mars Saliva Skillet The last goodnight Stone sour Lifehouse Busted Linkin Park Avenged Sevenfold Robert Pattinson Michelle Branch Death cab for cutie Simple plan Go audio The all american rejects Katy Perry Gaving Degraw Pink Youmeatsix Ok..I didn't know there was that many on there . Does anyone else listen to music whilst writing? Or reading?

    hello

I love her. My favourites were The Pact and Nineteen Minutes but from reading your list, I'm not sure we'd like similar anyway, hehe Welcome to the forum!
  22. I'm using a multi coloured stripey one at the moment. But it's really long so although it fits in The Host, I'm not sure if it'll fit in any smaller books.
  23. Thanks. I'll check it out
  24. Yep, that's the ones. I let my boyfriend's mum borrow them early last year and I haven't had them back yet. I think I'd like to re-read them at some point too.
