  1. Thanks peacefield I definately plan on reading a Laurell K Hamilton this year and will be sure to let you know what I think. I'll also keep my eye out in case you get read her first to see your thoughts! I'm sure you're friend will love The Women of the Otherworld series. I've been trying to convince my friend to read them too, she refuses at the minute as I recommended the Sookie books to her and she lost a couple of weeks until she had the lot read! She doesn't want that to happen just at the minute. Mind you, kookie bought her the first 3 in the Twilight series for xmas, while I got her Breaking Dawn. She's seen the films and is definately going to read the books ... just not til everything's back to normal, she doesn't want to lose another fortnight just yet! I can't wait to get my hands on The Heretic's Daughter, I really enjoyed Deliverence Dane and that subject facinates me. I was even talking to my OH this morning about places we'd like to visit, I'd love to go see Salem, Boston, Massachusetts (sp?) and the New England area.
  2. I'm so pleased you're loving it, I thought you might but it's always nice to hear
  3. It was indeed! Ooh thanks for reminding me! I remember I did quite fancy that one. It has now been added thank you (No more puppies needed ) Oh yes I have indeed, and thoroughly enjoyed the lot, thanks to you and Weave. Now it's just a matter of patiently waiting for Waking The Witch!
  4. I saw that and have just replied I saw the Ritual is third in a series, so that's a no no until I get the previous 2 Well you can never go wromg with a bit of Deaver, and I don't think you could loose your mojo with that one, it would be one I would go to if I have a mojo relapse. I actually bought Kiss Of Evil by Richard Montanari today, his are usually great, so that's me sorted for my next read I have read quite a few Deavers but I haven't read a Montanari in ages.
  5. I step into the white room at precisely eleven o'clock. Kiss Of Evil ~ Richard Montanari
  6. I have read all of the Southern Vampire series and they're one of my favourite series' of 2010, along with Women of the Otherworld of course I'll check out the Undead series though, that's the first I've heard of them, they sound interesting. I've also added Kelley Armstrong's two other series' you've recommended here to my wishlist. thank you! thank you I bought one off my wishlist today, Richard Montanari's Kiss Of Evil, so that's where I'll start! It's Ritual I have, so I guess it's pushed back down the list a bit until I have the previous 2! I didn't realise it was part of a series
  7. Hmm the storyline of Bareback does intrigue me, however as you and I have both really enjoyed some of the same supe books, I'll trust your judgement on this and only pick it up if I see it as a bargain Another great review Kelly!
  8. It's official, she's back on the shelf to go back to when I'm more in the mood for her. Now I've just to decide what to read. I've narrowed it down to a The Vanished Man by Jeffrey Deaver, Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell or to try a Mo Hayder read I have called Ritual. Decisions, decisions ...
  9. Happy Birthday hun! :balloons: Have a wonderful day! :D

  10. No you're absolutely right, it was a preposterous suggestion not to buy more books I'm in the mood to buy some more myself, which is a good sign that maybe my mojo wants to come back! I was pleasantly suprised, way better than the Disney version with some great quotes from the Duchess I also thought it would be hard to follow, but it is surprisingly easy once you get the gist of it and turned out to be a great read for me. I really want to see the film now I'm actually thinking of reading a thriller, maybe a Deaver, not sure yet. I'll just put Anne back on my shelf to come back to when I'm more in the mood No, no other ones but I do have one on my shelf.

  16. My second ever reading blog! I'd never done it before last year and found it to be really helpful and loved people popping in with suggestions! I managed to read 60 books in 2009, which is a personal best for me. I hope to hit the 70 mark this year, but if I match last year I'll be delighted. I'm also going to try to write my thoughts better on the books that I've read, while reading back on my last blog, I found it quite insightful! Again, if anyone wishes to comment, you would be most welcome and any recommendations are gratefully received.
  17. Oh my goodness Kylie, that is some TBR pile! I'm very impressed, and your blog is another one that is very organised. Hat's off to you! I hope you have many many hours of happy reading!
  18. I tend to agree, I was a bit disappointed with Paranormal Activity too. The only film that really freaked me out was 28 Days Later, but then that's zombie types, I hate zombies. Last DVD I watched was Wolverine
  19. Wow! Over 200 on your TBR pile? You should make a resolution not to buy any more, you have plenty to last you a couple of years, well one year anyway, the way you read! This is the most organised thread I've seen yet, I thought I was gonna have to post 2 posts as I didn't think I'd fit everything in! Lovely book! I enjoyed all of these. The Deaver's of course are always entertaining. The Surgeon is the beginning of a fantastic series which I really think you'l enjoy, as is The Rosary Girls. Let The Right One In and The Time Traveller's Wife were two surprises for me this year and The Vampire Lestat is one of Rice's novels which I enjoyed.
  20. Oh I'm so glad you got out for tissue! :woohoo: Piper lives to see another day! But my goodness, -20? That's bloody cold! It's -2 here and I thought that was bad!Nice of BF to lend you his skiing pants ;)

I think I'll just call my blog Charm's Choices 2010, I suppose the two Ch's do give it a certain ring about it. Really seriously thinking of giving up on Anne Rice which is strange for me as I usually do like her stuff, tbh I've wasted more time thinking about it, than doing something about it! Gonna maybe open my blog later, if I don't have too much to drink first, we're trying to finish off all the booze before we start on a health kick! Well .. you have to don't ya ... waste not want not! ;)

  21. I haven't read a thing for days Seriously thinking of giving up Blood And Gold to come back at a later stage, I've been pondering this for days, really because I hate leaving a book unfinished. Mind you, I've come to the conclusion that I've just wasted days faffing about, when I could have been reading something else! :motz:I'll give it one more try tonight and if that fails, it's back on the shelf for Ms Rice
  22. Of course I didn't mind! He's welcome to her! Nah I don't really mean that ... well sometimes I do, especially when she comes in stinking of cow sh1t, but not today, she's snoring her head off and behaving today. Did you manage to sort out the toilet paper? :giggle:

I'm trying to think of a new title for my 2010 reading blog, not that there will actually be any reading done if I can't get into this Anne Rice novel :irked:, although Charm's Choices 2010 isnt too bad I suppose. Must remember to keep plenty of puppies ;)

Hope you had a lovely new year's night!

  23. Just make sure you keep your feet under the covers tonight! mwahmwahmwah!!
  24. Watched Public Enemies last night. Even though the wonderful Johnny Depp was in it, I got rather bored
  25. Oh thank goodness, I wasn't sure if you were gonna reserve space!
