  1. Well, I finished Dexter in the Dark last night - would have finished it in one go if not for the fact that work/sleep/launch party got in the way! Brilliant book - again. Roll on number 4!
  2. I am a 20-something woman who is currently in the Ozarks in the US South & I've just "found" several dead bodies.
  3. Really? I would have thought that most authors would be innundated with people asking for autographed copies of their books, so getting them to agree to sign mine would be nigh on impossible.
  4. I really want to see the next Transformers movie. Maybe I'll even be able to convince my OH to see it in the cinemas this time!
  5. I think the covers are vitally important as I know that at least 1/2 of the time it is the cover alone that draws me to a book, that makes me pick it up & look it over & potentially buy it. And...I know I am not alone in that.
  6. Overall I think the whole competition has been poor! Also, they really need to re-consider the idea of the whole competition because it really isn't a variety show - it's a Singers & Dancers show! 6 acts through - 3 dance acts, 3 singers. I think that on the night Susan Boyle was poor, Diversity was great & there really wasn't anything else worth voting for on the 1st night. On the 2nd - well, I would have had the vantrilliquist get through over Shaun (IMO he belongs on X Factor, not BGT). Tonight's show was very poor & there was, like last night, very little choice beyond those they put through.
  7. Salut! No, I am not a gourmet chef, I just love to cook! I was going to train as a chef at university when I was younger, but cooking is my passion & I didn't want to ruin that by making my passoion my career. I do have 2 chefs in my family, though, my baby brother & my brother-in-law are both chefs.

Thank you for the lovely compliment, though!

  8. There's no ue on the end Sounds lovely
  9. Hello! Just passing through, so thought I'd say "Hi!"

    Hello!

Hello Green & :welcome2:to the forum!
  11. I'm having deep fried brie with cranberry sauce then pork chops in a grain mustard sauce with mashed potatoes & mixed veg.
  12. Hey you! Yeah, definately read it! I really enjoyed it & would have finished it much quicker, but I really don't seem to be reading much at the moment.
  13. Well, May is turning out to be a very drought infested reading month! I can't believe that today is May 25th & I have only finished 2 books! How did that happen? Must improve on this! Last night I finished reading Broken Angels by Richard Montanari, which is the 3rd in the series. This was a very good book, which started out kind of slowly, but ended in a flurry of action! I would heartily recommend this series to anyone who likes reading murder mystery!
  14. I finished the book I was reading last night, so now I'm just waiting to start Dexter.
  15. Since I upgraded to IE8 I've been having loads of problems. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, no rhyme nor reason to what happens, but it's bloody annoying! I'll be looking at a page (like here for instance) & click any link, like to go to the next page & it'll tell me that the page cannot be displayed, or that there is no internet connection or that the page doesn't exist. Happens so often, but if I refresh the page, lo & behold - the page is there. Something else it does is that if I am writing a post on a forum that has a preview function almost every time I go to post it crashes & says that the internet connection is lost, so I have to refresh it & write the post all over again - unless I remember to "preview" my post first. I've also found that pages are a lot slower at loading. Funny enough - none of that happens with firefox.
  16. Hey Mrs. how are you? Hope you're having a great long weekend. I'm on my own & I have to admit that I am hating it! All I can say is that thank goodness this isn't for very much longer! How's your Humpback reading going?

  17. Hi nicnic! Welcome back, hope things run a lot smoother for you from now onward!
  18. But you guys are missing the point of the post - the post title is have you ever cried (with laughter)..............I haven't read a book that was funny enough to make me cry, but I have read a few that really made me chuckle. Bill Bryson is brilliant for that & the 1st 2 Dexter novels had some really funny moments & there have been others, but as I said, none that have made me cry with laughter.
  19. Cider House Rules was made into a movie, different from the book in a lot of ways, but brilliant movie & equally brilliant book! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124315/

    Hello

Hello Ethan! Welcome to the forum!
  21. I saw Leon in concert when he was a contestant on Xfactor. He did a guest appearance in Michael Buble's concert & he was really good.
  22. Not too badly, thanks! A lot of backward & forward travelling to Bedford & back with interviews & whatnot. Luckily I'm now done with them & know that I'll be here until the end of next month, then that's it for Doncaster.

    How're you?
