  1. You know, I have spent considerable time (since the 1st post on here proclaimed it to be true) trying to find something that says that Max Clifford is her publicist. I can't find anything. There are a few posts on various websites which quote Max Clifford, but none where he is officially tied to her, as her publicist. Where did you guys get this information (or mis-information)?
  2. - since we are currently reading the same book!
  3. Kell, I agree with you to a point, but she didn't ask for what has happened to her. The BGT team were as shocked by the likes of Gregg Pritchard as they were her, yet he wasn't hounded by the press like Susan Boyle was. Diversity, Stavros Flatley, Shaheen, & many others were popular choices to win, but they didn't get the media treatment Susan Boyle did. Yes, admittedly she should have expected some media attention (she'd have been a fool to believe otherwise) but in the span of a couple weeks she went from an unknow, to a media sensation who was loved & put up on this pedestal BY THE MEDIA, to someone who is being vilified by the media & loads of the same people who a week or 2 ago were loving her. I don't think she ever stood a chance & no matter what you think of her singing ability, she didn't bring this treatment upon herself. She didn't deserve what has happened to her & I really hope that she gets the help she needs & that if she chooses to persue a career in the recording industry, that she has good people standing behind her, covering her back.
  4. The New 50 Simple Things Kids Can Do To Save The Planet arrived with me via LibraryThing's Early reviewers. An excellent book & something I would recommend for parents & kids alike. 8/10
  5. I finished Dexter in the Dark on Friday & whilst I think it wasn't as good as the last one in the series, it was still a really good book! Unfortunatly because it did fall short of my expectations, I'm giving this one an 8/10.
  6. "Pardonez moi, Monsieur." - Dexter by Design by Jeff Lindsay
  7. Good idea, Batman!
  8. Woo hoo! Charm, that's a great deal you got! If I hadn't already read most of them I'd be getting them for myself!
  9. Well Maggie, if you ever want to expand into the "exotic/erotic" market, then you already have the perfect name to write under! PS: Hope you had a safe flight & a lovely trip home (even if it is primarily business)
  10. Good idea, batman! I had been thinking of really stretching myself & reading something in Swedish, but yours sounds a much better idea!

How are you, btw? See you next weekend!!

  11. We had pizza from Dominos. It was yummy.
  12. It's The Shakespeare Secret by J.L. Carrell. There's a thread about it on here, as a few of us have read it.
  13. Rcee, are you reading what I think you're reading? Had I looked at your post a little closer I would have seen that yes, you are reading what I think you're reading. What are you thinking of it?
  14. I can easily solve the cookie problem - I'll eat the cookies!
  15. It's working for me, too.
  16. I started reading Grave Sight today & the font is driving me crazy. I wear glasses to read (or am supposed to) & the print is pretty small & worse than that is that at on each page there are several places where there is one line in the "normal" size, then the line below is a smaller print, which is making it very hard to read.
  17. Tonight we had Turkey breast topped with stuffing & wrapped in maple syrup marinated bacon, steamed Jersey Royal potatoes & peas. Then, for dessert we are having sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries & a little vanilla yoghurt with honey.
  18. I am soooooooo happy for Diversity!! We voted 3 times for them, lol!
  19. I'm torn between them & Shaheen.
  20. Alternatively you could skip the cookie & the spoiler & GO READ THE BOOK!!!
  21. Happy birthday, Janet! :bestw: & Congrats on being made an admin!

  22. Happy birthday :bestw: Hope you have a great day!

  23. Hi Maggie, Once your book was written how many publishing houses did you have to approach before someone agreed to publish it? I would have thought that someone would have noticed sooner that there is a gaping hole in the Women's literature market - it's all geared to 20 & 30-somethings! Do you know where your signings will be?
