I think you mean me!! Yes it's Lavender and that's my daughter although she is not quite as angelic as she looks.
I have finished Esme now - thoroughly enjoyed it
thank you I am going to have a look at the link. I think Kate Figes used to write for the Guardian or Independent - I seem to remember reading articles about parenting in the last few years or so.
The daughter who doesn't read has read these! Which must make them good. We did get the CDs from the library for a holiday and they were excellent to listen to - I can see the appeal
We now have 3 charity shops within a few yards of each other and they all have big collections of books.
Found 4 good books posted on 'what Books Came Into Your House Today'

I started reading this yesterday morning and have already covered 80 pages. I am enjoying it immensely so far.
It reminded me of a long ago visit to Friern Barnet, an enormous N London institution now closed which housed women like Esme.
Finished My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult took - 12 days. Added The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox to TBR pile and have started it. Proving to be a good read.
Purchased a Dragon fruit from Tesco about 2 months ago and sprogs wanted to plant the seeds which looked like frogspawn!
They have sprouted very well indeed so I potted them on yesterday:lol:
