    Gardening

I am having problems with my fuschias - the hardy ones are fine but my non hardy ones are budding but not flowering. Has anyone else had any problems? I am wondering if they didn't like all the rain we had.
  2. Tonight I had strawberries with a sprinking of sugar and "light" squirty cream - delish!
  3. Spaghetti Carbonara never fails! I serve mine with a nice salad and some fresh crusty bread - lovely!
  4. I'm reading this now Muggle! I think it will take a while!! I hope I enjoy it as much as you did!

  7. I have had to stop reading Maggie Furey - The heart of Myrial as milk spilled in my bag today and now the book is sopping wet. I have made the very brave decision to tackle Stephen King - The Stand and at a mammouth 1,325 pages long it is definately a Doorstep as well! I may be reading this for a while! Dark dreams that warned of the coming of the dark man. The apostate of death, his worn-down boot heels tramping the night roads. The warlord of the charnel house and Prince of Evil. His time is at hand. His empire grows in the west and the Apocalypse looms.
  8. I use a beer trap as well - it works wonders! My dad brings round any beer that has gone out of date and I use that! Someone I work with sprinkles salt on them...yuk yuk yuk!
  9. At work I believe that the company who designed our website also gets us up the list on google but I don't know how!

  12. Here's yours HandD!!! - Vivienne Michel is in trouble. Trying to escape her tangled past, she has run away to the American backwoods, winding up at the Dreamy Pines Motor Court. A far cry from the privileged world she was born to, the motel is also the destination of two hardened killers - the perverse Sol Horror and the deadly Sluggsy Morant. When a coolly charismatic Englishman turns up, Viv, in terrible danger, is not just hopeful, but fascinated. Because he is James Bond, 007, the man she hopes will save her, the spy she hopes will love her ...
  13. Here's what it says on the Penguin website about The Complete Short Stories: Author: H. H. Munro In these macabre, acid and very funny short stories, Saki drives a knife into the upper crust of English Edwardian life. Here we meet in particular two of his most brilliant creations, the self-possessed Clovis and the vain and supremely stylish Reginald. There is tea on the lawn, the smell of gunshot, the tinkle of the caviar fork and beneath it all the half-seen, half-felt menace lying beneath the polished surface of society. This is the cover of the book:-
  14. I am getting The complete short stories!
  15. Iv'e just looked and as Maggie Furey - The heart of Myrial has got 505 pages it can also be a Doorstep Challenge book as well!
  16. After reading the Earths Children series I started becoming really interested in the Ice Age and I also reasearched some of the places mentioned in the books. My friend (she introduced me to the books) has gone one better and has actually visited the caves in France!
  17. Right, I have decided on a fantasy book. Maggie Furey - The heart of Myrial (Book one in the Shadowleague series) The magical barriers that have held the world together for aeons are begining to fail. But this is far more than just a natural disaster. For the boundaries have also served to keep hostile nations apart. Catastrophe is imminent, and the only hope of salvation lies in the hands of the Shadowleague and its emissaries, in particular the Loremaster Veldan and her firedrake partner Kazairl. The next few days will change their future and threaten to tear the Shadowleague apart.
  18. I finished Simon Kernick - Relentless today and I really enjoyed it. It is very fast paced with lot's of twists and turns so it really kept my attention. I will definately read more of Simon Kernick's books! Not sure what I am going to read next, I will have a look when I get home.
