  1. I'm so glad the temperature has come down for a lot of you! I don't think I'd survive some of the temperatures you've been having
  2. You Are So Beautiful ~ Joe Cocker
  3. Loved Northern Exposure!
  4. Midwinter here and lots of rain. My heartfelt sympathy to all those sweltering in record temperatures. I'm a kind of 25°C maximum comfort zone person, anything over 30°C and I wilt. Stay safe everyone!
  5. Some Velvet Morning ~ Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood
  6. Not sure if you're wanting suggestions, Willoyd, but I recommend Mr Pip by Lloyd Jones for Papua New Guinea.
  7. Blue Lips ~ Regina Spektor
  8. Goodbye Blue Sky ~ Pink Floyd
  9. Ghosts That We Knew ~ Mumford and Sons

(Apart from biographies about C.S Lewis) I've read Mere Christianity, Surprised By Joy and possibly A Grief Observed, but I'm sorry I don't remember that line. Google didn't throw up anything either. What surprised me about his non-fiction was how easy it was to read and understand. I was expecting them to be rather dry, scholarly tomes but instead he was very honest about his struggles and compassionate towards others.
  13. (Who You Gonna Call) Ghostbusters ~ Ray Parker Jnr
  14. Yes! We Have No Bananas ~ Louis Prima
  15. Totally agree, Luna, I thought it was ludicrous when it was suggested in the (I believe)70's. I think there was mention of them having 'a gay time in the woods' but gay only meant happy in those days
  16. Reading another Stella Gibbons book, The Swiss Summer.
  17. My Old School ~ Steely Dan
  18. I'm sure Enid Blyton didn't even dream of that implication when she wrote Noddy and Big Ears. But what's interesting is that the reason the books were banned in the 70's would now be considered politically correct and inclusive.
  19. Remember the Days of the Old Schoolyard ~ Cat Stevens
  20. Harbour Lights ~ The Platters
  21. Gave up on Nothing To Report by Carola Oman. Full of a large number of inane, undeveloped characters, many of whom only appear once. If it was non-fiction you'd call it name dropping but since they are fictional, it makes no sense. Aptly named as by halfway, nothing of interest had happened. Going to read one by Stella Gibbons (Cold Comfort Farm author) The Swiss Summer. I've enjoyed all the books I've read by her so far.
  22. Black Night ~ Deep Purple
  23. Help Is On It's Way ~ Little River Band
  24. Holding Back the Years ~ Simply Red (I was thinking of different Osborne brothers, Muggle. Kept thinking, they didn't sing bluegrass! )
