I think you could only be accused of being pharisaical if you insisted everyone used the 1662 liturgy, rather than it being a personal choice. For myself, I'm glad many churches have moved on from their patriarchal rules, not allowing women priests, ministers etc. I also think churches need to be inclusive of all members of society, including LGBTQ. Jesus spoke out against gender inequality, religious hypocrisy, hate, segregation and social injustice, amongst other things.

I read quite a few of Steinbeck's books when I was young but the only one I remember having an impact on me now was Grapes of Wrath. The poverty and hardships of the poor had a big affect on me. Muggle is a big fan of Steinbeck. I hope he sees this thread.
