  1. The Other Side ~ David Gray
  2. Gimme All Your Lovin' ~ ZZ Top
  3. Watched 'Where the Crawdads Sing', enjoyed it but do think the book is better.
  4. Radio Head ~ Talking Heads
  5. I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever) ~ Stevie Wonder
  6. I think I was unusual in that I was happy to read any book for homework, it really didn't feel like school work at all. I know other kids absolutely hated many of our set books though, and I agree they probably weren't the best choices. We studied them in the 6th form, I guess teachers thought (probably erroneously) we were capable of a bit of mature analysis by that stage.
  7. We watched this a while ago. Quite shocking.
  8. We studied Brave New World and 1984 at school, but it's all a complete blur now (not surprising really, I often finish a book and can't really remember much the next day 😏). Not a huge fan of dystopian novels although loved One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, both book and film. We also studied Lord of the Flies at school, which I remember parts of vividly. Found it very disturbing. Our English teacher must have been big on this kind of book because we read Animal Farm as well.
  9. Why Worry ~ Dire Straits (Here's Mark Knopfler with Emmylou Harris, which you might like Muggles 😘)
  10. Yes, I remember that one, Muggle 😊 One of our local artists, Bunny Walters, did a version of it as well.
  11. Come Fly With Me ~ Frank Sinatra
  12. Eleanor Put Your Boots On ~ Franz Ferdinand
  13. Probably remember them all if I heard them, songs tended to stick around a lot longer than they do nowadays. I recognise at least 11 😊
  14. I don't remember these when they were first released (bit young 😋 ) but I do remember several of them from later. Interesting that Carole King wrote the music for 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' sung by the Shirelles in 1960 and then later recorded herself singing it in 1971.
  15. Lady D'Arbanville ~ Cat Stevens
  16. Mad Dogs and Englishmen ~ Noël Coward
  17. I had a big clear out of books some time ago. Got rid of old had-it books, ones I'd never read again and ones I'd never read. I read almost entirely on my tablet now but have kept my favourites. I had no problem downsizing my library( donated them to charity stores) but I wish I could be a bit more ruthless with all the other stuff I've accumulated over the years. My biggest problem is with sentimental things I’ve been given, find it very difficult to let go of them. I can totally understand the feeling of freedom it must give you to have minimal possessions.
  18. I've Been Loving You Too Long (To Stop Now) ~ Otis Redding
  19. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face ~ Roberta Flack
  20. Fantastic news, Muggle! 🥰 So pleased the macular degeneration has improved, the injection isn't too painful and you have longer before the next one ( I bet it's due to all those strawberries 😉)
  21. Yes Sir, I Can Boogie ~ Baccara

    Rest in Peace

Barry Humphries has died aged 89. An Australian comedian, actor, author and satirist but remembered most, I'm sure, as the brilliant, one and only Dame Edna Everidge.
  23. Hymn For the Weekend ~ Coldplay
  24. Those strawberries look SO delicious! What variety are they? We have a strawberry farm not far away, they're nice, but not as good as the ones we used to get. They grow them outside hydroponically, I think, which may have something to do with it.
  25. It's a mistake many of us have made, timebug. You read your notifications, click on it and it takes you to a page that's not necessarily the last one. I try to remember to check if I'm on the latest page now. Hold Me Now ~ Thompson Twins
