  5. You would have enjoyed the unsingable hymns 😅
  6. I love him too. And that's a super spiffy idea! 😄 Favourite phrases of mine of his are, 'I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled', and his description 'It was the look which caused her to be known in native bearer circles as 'Mgobi-'Mgumbi, which may be loosely translated as She On Whom It Is Unsafe To Try Any Oompus-Boompus'.
  7. We've had family staying for the last two weeks, it's been pretty busy. We have a day to ourselves today so taking it easy.
  8. I'm in NZ so we often have to wait for these programmes. I watched the latest Doc Martin series, which I really enjoyed but haven't seen the Christmas special. Detectorists has been on Netflix but I missed it. Hopefully it will be repeated. I watched the first series of Ghosts and thought it very funny.

  15. Your Christmas tree is always beautiful, Muggle 🥰 For the last three years I've done away with a big tree and bought a little fir tree that I'm growing in a container. I wheel it inside with a sack barrow and it's very minimalistic with only a star on top, fairy and seed lights and a few decorations. My brother and niece are staying from Alaska and my niece has decorated out letterbox (a local tradition) with unused decorations.
  16. Driving Home For Christmas ~ Chris Rea
  17. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas ~ Perry Como

  21. Dark Side of the Moon ~ Pink Floyd
  22. Wild West End ~ Dire Straits
  23. Little Pixie, who used to post here, has introduced me to Emily Organ's 'Churchill and Pemberley' series. These are light-hearted mysteries with the elderly pair running a detective agency and strongly featuring cake. I'm not feeling like reading anything demanding at the moment and these fit the bill. I'm reading 'Christmas Calamity at the Vicarage' where Christmas mince pies have a prominent place. I made about three dozen yesterday (a little less now as I had to check they were OK, and the first one didn't quite convince me) so it's very timely 😊
