Watched Mr Holmes today, Holmes in his 90's and his last case. Ian McKellen, always excellent, as Holmes and stellar performance by Milo Parker ( young Gerald in The Durrells). Rather poignant but thoroughly enjoyable.
Wow Muggle, what luscious looking blackberries and pie looks amazing!🥧 🥰 Is it blackberry and apple or pure blackberry?
Hubby is requesting a rhubarb pie, I'm trying to talk him into having apple with it, but he's standing firm 😁
Just saw this, Muggle, will try making them. Just need to get some beans. I made some years ago from an American cookbook ( pre-internet) and they were pretty nice 😊
I would have put The Wind In the Willows, My Family and Other Animals ,The Graveyard Book and several others a lot higher.
I disliked Alice In Wonderland and Pippi Longstocking, both in the top three, as a child 😏
Watching the TV series 'When the Boat Comes In'. This first came out in the mid 70s, I watched it then but don't know if I saw the whole series. Set in Tyneside just after WW1, where the predominant work was down the coal mines or ship building. Am finding the politics and trade union movement very interesting but it was the depression and the poverty was appalling. Some of the accents are very broad and I miss some words but pick up most of it. Am thoroughly enjoying.
