  17. My Reading List 2015 Well, here we are another year and another pile of books to read. Yet again I didn't reach my meagre 'to read' total of 30 ..how sad is that 19 is not a good total. It was even 1 less than last year so I shall endeavour yet again to reach it this year, famous last words I hear you say. Hopefully I will add a few more new authors along the reading trail too as I did last year. You are all very good at recommendations. Must try to read more from the books already on my shelf though, than buying....but we all know how hard that is List from 2014 (19) List from 2013 (20) Follow the above link to the other lists from previous years. 18. Not had any snow, but it has been very cold and hard frost
  19. 'Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe' by Jenny Colgan I haven't read 'Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe' but it was easy enough to get to know the characters. It was an OK read, but thought I it might have made me feel more Christmassy than it did. It does sound like a nice café to visit though if I was passing by and wanted to pop in. 3/5

Good going Sedge....what a great win for you. U'17's game as to be expected due to the cold ground was called off. But Andy actually managed to get a game himself....bit of a treck up to Turriff for a cup game. We didn't go...shame really as he got a hat trick ...! Typical. The were 4-3 down but scored in injury time 4-4...eventually went to pens and the won 4-3. He ended up taking 3 pens....1st was fine...but he had to retake it as somebody was marginally in the box....took it again, same tactics...looked to the corner and blasted it down the middle. He was also one of the pen takers and did the same again. He said you would think the goalie would have had some idea where he was going to put the ball after three times....lol. So that is us ....will be all quiet for the U'17's over Christmas, but I think Glendale are playing through...weather permitting...!

Sorry for the late up date of the footie last weekend....Glendale...no game, so some consolation as they didn't lose any points...! U'17's did get a game. Phone rang at 8.30 and we thought here we go for the 5th week in a row of cancellation, however they actually moved the game to another pitch and they got it played. It was the local derby again against the other Culter team and it was 0-0 at HT. They came out fighting after HT but went down 1-0, then they had a penalty awarded against them, but our goalie made a fantastic save and denied them (soft) the penalty. Much to Andy's delight they managed to win convincingly 3-1, much to the other coaches disgust saying we were lucky...! Cold and had a few flakes of snow drifting through today, so an away game this weekend at Stonehaven (if it is on). How did you get on in the FA Vase?

Phew....how many times does that happen.....'yeh we should win this ok...' Cold and frosty here tonight....reckon it will be another day of footie cancellations.

17's have only played 5...about 6 still to play I think, due to the weather being rubbish. The rain seems to have gone at the moment, but quite heavy frost past couple of nights so see what the weekend brings. They haven't played 4 weeks in a row...! Glendale have played 11 and not even half way yet...think they have a cup game this weekend, but don't see Andy getting a game, he is tied to coaching the 17's at the moment due to lack of coaches. Their games have been getting called off too. Have to hope for good weather for the weekend....looks OK'ish if a bit chilly...hope it stays dry at least. Any fixtures to report Sedge?
