  1. Hope it all works out soon though - it is difficult to accept tho

  2. Not so bad thanks -very tired from work tho!

  3. I confess that I do like the back looking nice and tidy . I also don't trail my threads across the back either in case it shows through - the maximum I take across is 5-6 stitches - even then I thread thru the back of statches. I know it sounds anal but I can't have it any other way
  4. Happy birthday :hbsign:

  5. Roast pork & all the trimmings. Homemade lemon meringue
  6. Happy birthday Michelle. Hope you are having a great day :hbsign:

  7. She looks like she was well done though - and small things leed to bigger as they say. It looks like that you are starting to tackle bigger projects with your wolf . Enjoy the challenge
  8. Well done Chrysalis - I like the skating Mouse!!
  9. Ooh there are some great designs out there Nici - a really exciting one to do!! I really wish I knew anyone getting married in the family as I would love to do this one http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=48091&ww=on&do=search_results. But enough I have plenty to do
  10. You should have shown him the needle or used it on him, Nici . Sewing is never a waste of time IMHO!! How are you getting on?
  11. thank you Kell I have also started to plan 2 presents today. 1 for my mother and the other for m-i-law. Taken from Una Stubbs - In Stitches (now out of print) a little cushion which is white work, free embroidery with drawn threadwork. Each pillow is finshed off with a scallop edge, all hand sewn with tiny beads and tiny punched holes. I will try and upload a picture when I have completed one. Each cushion is no bigger than 6 " square
  12. Managed to grab a couple of hours sewing this afternoon - managed to complete nearly another poppy.
  13. Much quicker with a peeler - couldn't be doing with all that faffing around
  14. That was the best final ever!! All 3 were fantastic but I am just so glad that Mat won. His approach is just so natural and in tune with food that is local whilst being inspired. I have felt his emotion all the way through and last night it was so touching - I wanted to cry for him. I'm sure that Andy and Chris will get offers.
  15. Plenty of moisturiser (non- greasy 'cos of all your hard work!) helps but it is so annoying when that happens
  16. I blame Louise for discovering her
  17. I haven't read those 2 but I have read many of her books and they never fail to deliver! If you like historical fiction and murder mystery these fill the bill completely. Enjoy!
  18. Susanna Gregory - The Devil's Disciples
  19. We had lots of pancakes with plenty of sugar and lemon I wil give up biscuits for lent (they will help with the diet!) and being impatient!! (looks like it could be a long 6 weeks, LOL )
  20. I've never had a problem - as soon as the door has shut, kids settled, DH has all he needs - out comes the book
  21. I agree with Jane Eyre, my all time favourite. What about Pride and Prejudice?
  22. Thank you Kernow- Reader! Only managed to get a little bit done today as I've been busy, busy busy
  23. :friends0:Sounds like you're having a rough time! Hang on in there

  24. Glad to see you back. Hope you are ok

  25. thank you everyone. Both took about a year to do. The big projects are not for the feint hearted though - they are compllex with lots of half, quarter stitches so some experience is necessary ( I have about 30 years of needlecraft experience ) Kell - you seem to be making good progress - it is so frusrating trying to find time with a young baby but it will come! Loopyloo - keep on in there - you've made a great start This thread has done nothing but waste time as I keep going through all the sites looking for the next challenge (I collect sewing like books!!)
