  6. Glad you had a good holiday Sorry to hear about your car! There is no way on this earth they didn't know they did it. So why people can't have the common decency to leave a note with a name and number.
  7. Goodnight, Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian
  8. Sorry to hear this I hope you get out of this soon.
  9. The film is so good isn't it? oh I don't know I just didn't like the adventures they went on and in my opinion Mrs Price, although a very nice lady just wasn't how I expected her to be. Angela Lansbury played her so well.
  10. I once read a book where it said the wrong character's name after speech bubbles. I won't have explained that very well but it was pretty embarrassing that the author made the mistake and it wasn't picked up by the editor. I agree with Booknutt, about repeating phrases and words. It seems when an author finds a word they like they just go with it, over and over again. It's pretty lazy. What makes it worse for me is when I read reviews on GoodReads before I finish the book and somebody has written down my own thoughts and I seem to see it even more.
  11. I took two books on holiday The Little Flowershop By The Sea by Ali McNamara. I loved this, the characters, the storyline and the romance was great. 5 star The Cosy Teashop In The Castle by Caroline Roberts. This was a disappointment. It was boring and not much happened. There is also something else that was ridiculous but I can't work out the spoiler tag. 2 star I also finished Bedknob & Broomstick by Mary Norton before we left. This would be a 1 star for me really because oh my goodness I can't explain how dull I found this. I gave it 2 however, because I really enjoy the film and I know we wouldn't have it without the book. I am still reading The Horse & His Boy as well as Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan and Persuasion.
  12. Hello and welcome, Matt I am a very big admirer of the Police Force, having seen first hand the work they do to keep their community safe, so thank you Congratulations on your book.
  13. I won't be joining per se, but I'll be reading where I can to finish Bedknob and Broomstick and The Horse and His Boy before my holiday.
  14. Thank you very much i just need to pack, get my euros and make sure my passport is on hand. That sounds like a tedious job, but at least it'll be all nice for you when it's done Hope your brother and his gf enjoyed their trip, and you have a good and joyful catch up.
  15. I have just had a look at my stats on goodreads, and last year I read six books that I gave 1 star to, and this year I already have six books I've rated 1 star. Three of them been in July alone. Having said that, I have 10 5 stars under my belt so that is something. As long as 3,4 and 5 stars is higher than 1 and 2 stars I'll be happy. I do hope you'll get some great 5 star reads, Frankie
  16. I could eat it everyday. I think the person who created it deserves a special place in Heaven.
