Okay, Twin Peaks has to be added to my list as well.
-
Red Dwarf. I'm adding that to my all time list.
-
Ever or current? Hmmm....let's start with all-time: All-time Favorites Lost Better off Ted Pushing Daisies (pie!!!) Star Trek (Picard!) Wilfred Dead Like Me Once Upon a Time Current Obsession The Paradise Some random Korean TV drama whose name escapes me Past Obsessions Big Bang Theory Chuck Eureka Numb3rs Nostalgic from childhood list: Leave it to Beaver The Brady Bunch Perry Mason Little House on the Prairie

It's an abomination. It belongs in a class by itself. Just the title alone qualifies that one for the list.

Okay, adding Pleasantville and amending Star Wars to include the entire trilogy. Including my earlier amendments of Dead Poets Society, Eternal Sunshine and Timer, that brings it to sixteen, but the Star Wars trilogy is actually one, which was included in my original list, which makes it fourteen, which is the exact same thing as ten. (Ten plus four, but we'll ignore that.) New math. It works.

I've been stuck waiting in a parking lot for the past twenty minutes without a book. How did I leave this happen?

Two summers ago, we had over 20 consecutive days of 100+ degree weather. There was almost a week straight of 110+degree weather. Believe me, after that, the 90s felt like a cold snap. One could literally fry an egg on the sidewalk. Today is a lovely 82, breezy with blue skies. Beautiful napping weather! It's all in perspective!

Boxing Helena. Hands down, the worst ever.

This one cuts a bit close to home. I can hardly bear to think of it. Sending my prayers to all involved.

That's too bad! Maybe you can squeeze in a chapter or two here and there. That's how it was for me last month. I'm starting The Narnian, a biography on C.S. Lewis.
-
What?!? That's quite a story. I've never heard of it before. Who were his captors?
-
I love me some Bond! I love Dead Poets Society and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Back to the Future is great. I also love the movie Timer. Blast. This is difficult. I completely agree with that.

Just finished Murder on the Orient Express. 266 pages. It was really good! I'd read several Christie before, including starting this one, and just didn't care for them. I'm glad I gave it another try.

So what's your top ten movie list? I watch movies to laugh and escape so my list probably seems rather light. I do like challenging, thought-provoking movies, but I'm generally not inclined to watch them again and again. All of the movies on my list are ones I could set on a loop and still have fun watching. So in no particular order, here's my top ten list: The Princess Bride Ramen Girl The Breakfast Club My Fair Lady Star Wars (The original. I'm not messing around with this CGI Jar Jar Binks nonsense.) When Harry Met Sally Space Camp (Don't judge ) Drop Dead Gorgeous Idiocracy Stranger Than Fiction

Just watched The Breakfast Club. Iconic.

Happy read-a-thon to you!

March 2014 No One is Here Except All of Us by Ramona Ausubel ©2012 by Riverhead Books Literary Fiction 325 Pages Set in 1939 in the Romanian village of Zalischik Synopsis of inside flap: During WWII, the people of this village attempt to save themselves through isolation. When a stranger washes ashore, their illusion is shattered, and they vow to begin the world anew, forsaking all to create a new reality. Impressions: Beautifully written, strangely told. That really is the best way I can think of to describe it. The description on the inside flap sounded so intriguing, that I gave it a chance. The writing is beautiful and really draws the reader in, but the story was just so weird. It was like reading in a fog. She was successful in making it a bit surreal, but maybe too much? Maybe not enough? I'm not sure. I think this is one that would be best to read before judging. Some might find it to be brilliant; I just found it to be, well, odd. Some of the parts were just disturbing.

Vodkafan, now I'm finished with season one and I'm hooked. Season two won't be on Netflix until season three begins to air -- if it begins to air. Sigh... Did you see the website? It's full of interesting tidbits. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00vhpsv

This thread is so interesting! I used to live just near President Ulysses S. Grant's home, Hardscrabble. It is the only house built by and lived in an American president. He also built the fence out front. Interestingly, he made it out of the barrels of Civil War rifles. Also interesting is that the Busch family (of Anheuser-Busch/Budweiser fame) have their mansion (a castle, practically) on the same property set back aways behind some woods. During the winter when the trees are bare, you can catch glimpses of it.

It really was a great deal of fun. Thanks for hosting!

So exciting!!! Let.me know how it goes.

Well, I'm on to episode seven and I just love it. It is so charming. Moreover, just at the fork in the road when it could become annoying if they turned the wrong way, they turned just the right way and it became even more delightful. It's a really pleasant way to pass an hour.

Pushing Daisies and Better Off Ted: two that I think ended before their times. I also liked Dead Like Me, but with the original Daisy.
-
Chuck. The entire last season was a bit of a letdown.

How fun! What part of the States are you visiting? Do you get to take a long trip? I love to travel, but don't get to lately, so I have to live vicariously through others.
