  1. Haha. My Mum's colleague said that it's a bit extreme; he should've dumped her instead of killing her for Valentine's Day. Apparently the neighbours woke up to screaming and shouting. That doesn't suggest to me that she was a "burglar" as he thought and what has been told in the news.
  2. Chicken Tikka Masala
  3. Gabrielle Aplin - The Power of Love
  4. Definitely. It carries on throughout the rest of the novels and there's quite a few twists. I'd think you'd like the rest of them. You get to engrossed in their lives with what happens later on in the novels.
  5. Pompeii by Bastille. This was the song I heard on Radio 1 and couldn't find the name of. Finally found it. Straight download to my iPod now! And will see what else they do. First time I have heard of them.
  6. What do you think of these books? I think they're brilliant, regardless of being typical YA novels. Very emotional I would say. Just gotten a few pages into the epilogue of the first in the Mistborn Trilogy. I can understand why Sanderson was chosen to write the last of the Wheel of Time series. Really interested to see where he goes with the next two books considering what I've read so far (having not finished the epilogue) makes it seem like the book shouldn't have any followups. I can see where there might be followups though.
  7. Hopefully about to have a bar of galaxy
  8. Just had toad in the hole with chips. Always find the yorkshire pudding doesn't taste as nice as when it's cooked alone.
  9. Damnit! Heard a song on @BBCR1 on Cox's show and I don't know the song. :(

      Pompeii by Bastile :)

  10. Four In A Bed
  11. I downloaded a new ebook for my Kobo. Was looking at the 2013 shortlist for debut novels on Waterstones and managed to download Y by Marjorie Celona
  12. Watched the last 30 mins to an hour of Phone Booth which was on TCM last night. Was actually quite good.
  13. Supersize vs superskinny
  14. I downloaded a preview of the book. I shall get round to it at some point. Ah yes, I read the first Hunger Games but not read the others yet. Don't know if I will even get round to it. Not heard of Divergent though.
  15. Ah yes! I remember now. Me and my Mum just had a mad 5 minutes remembering these books.
  16. How ironic. I read this page and now a bag of it has come in the shopping.
  17. I'm unsure if I read Angels & Demons. I definitely read The Lost Symbol and I think the Da Vinci Code. I'm also sure I tried reading one of his other novels, about cryptic things or something. God knows. The movies are more appealing to me to be honest.
  18. Ooh, I loved the Mallory Towers books. Wasn't there another series like it? I can't remember the name but they were basically the same. Was brilliant. My Mum actually recommended it (from her dawn of the dinosaur years! ) and it was brilliant. OMG! Faraway Tree stories. That brings back memories. Was a brilliant novel. Can't beat Enid Blyton. I think I used to have a bedtime stories book by her.
  19. I loved these books. I've only read 2 out of the 4. But then it would appeal to my teenage mind. Yes, it is a typical YA novel but if it's what appeals to you then go for it.
  20. Doesn't really make a difference to me. People are always going to find different interpretations of novels and poetry etc. It's what we do. Especially if you study Literature or something like that. It makes it appealing to a variety of different audiences. Some people may have liked that reading of Harry Potter. But for me, it wasn't. I was like 5 or 6 or whatever when I first read this, I wouldn't think of something like that.
  21. Sounds quite interesting. I haven't read a good YA since the most recent Cassandra Clare I read last month. I may check for a preview on my Kobo and see what it's like. Another preview amongst my 10 others that I still haven't read. But I shall definitely read this one.
  22. God snow! We've had it predicted where I live in the UK (south-west) and never received anything. We had hail at one point which got all the younger kids at my school excited as they clearly didn't look at the ground and see that it wasn't like a sheet but little balls. BECAUSE IT WAS HAIL! But yes, I wouldn't mind snow now. Back when we were forecast it I had my exams and was praying it wouldn't come, and it didn't.
  23. Ah damn. Well the Reginald Hill one is really good. No pictures and a graphic novel. Makes no sense.
  24. Slice of buttered toast
