  1. Enjoy . I still need to watch it , haven't decided if I should read the book first or see the movie first. Any recommendation?
  2. I didn't know it was a trilogy! I'll have to get around to reading the other two sometime then, thanks . (I loved the film too)
  3. I love this book! I understand why you find it daunting, I read it when I was a young teenager and understood most parts of the philosophy so I think you'll be allright .
  4. That's a very nice picture charliepud! It's nice to see what you look like, and it's of course also nice to see Dylan .
  5. This has been on my TBR list for ages, but I own it in Dutch so it's a translation, hardly read any translations into Dutch these days. Still, I may give it a go sometime .
  6. I really liked that one, looking forward to hear/read what you think. Hope you like it .
  7. Good luck frankie!! I hope you have lots of fun reading .
  8. Wow frankie, that's very detailed! I recognise most of your reasons for myself XD.
  9. Nice pictures!! I'm not quite sure, what film is that? (I'm sure it's something really famous and obvious XD and I recognise it a bit but can't think of the name..)
  10. Such lovely shelves!! I'm jaleous . My books are organised on genre, after that books of one author are all (preferably) on the same shelf. Bigger books go at the bottom of the book case, smaller books more near the top.
  11. I've got that too, my hands are not that big (but in proportion to the rest of me, I'm just not a very big/tall person!) so big books are awkward to hold. Nice to find someone likeminded .
  12. Will you go to the Netherlands? I could also help you with London (if you go there), I've been a frequent visitor of it XD. It depends on what kind of things you like to see. I'd definately go and see all the famous sites such as Big Ben, Parliament buildings, Oxford street, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace. If you like museums you could go to the Natural History Museum and/or the Science Museum (but you only have 2 days so not sure if you should. They're great though.)
  13. I've only read Howl's Moving Castle, that was great (love the film too). I haven't read any of her other books so I can't say anything about them. I don't know Fire & Hemlock, sorry.
  14. Very nice! I've seen most episodes but I haven't seen most of season 3 and 4. I've got most of the DVDs but haven't gotten around to watching it, not been in the mood lately. I love Big Bang Theory! It's my favourite new show that's currently being shown here. I don't watch a lot of TV to be honest. Still got a lot of things recorded that I'm slowly catching up on, as well as watching DVDs.
  15. @ charliepud Such a beautiful picture of your dogs! @ ashleighjane Awww what cute cats you have! I have to admit I'm a real sucker for cute/beautiful pet pictures! I like fluffy animals (shame I'm allergic to cats though).
  16. It's on my TBR list, glad to hear you're enjoying the book!
  17. I agree! I always try to check it before I buy it (if it's online), to try to make sure it's not too big a paperback. If they're not too big then it's fine (though I prefer all books to be the same), but the really large ones annoy me.
  18. I fully agree!!
  19. I went past a charity shop today and bought some books: Maeve Binchy - Circle of Friends Katie Fforde - Highland Fling Laura Lippman - Tess Monaghan 7: The Last Place (didn't know it was part of a series) Harry Turtledove - Opening of the World 1: Beyond the Gap Nicholas Evans - The Horse Whisperer I also bought one book that I already had , the books were cheap though so it's not a big deal (and it does help charity). More to come in a while, I plan to buy a Stephen King book among others, the people on this forum have been pretty positive about his books and since I already like some of his books, I thought I should buy another one (or maybe two..). I'm thinking about getting 11/22/63 or The Stand.
  20. I haven't got a library card anymore and the website doesn't have a picture. This link shows you the prices and details of each card, in Dutch of course.
  21. I hope you like it! I thought it was a pretty good book .
  22. What a beautiful pictures of those cats and dog! They all look so sweet . @charliepud I think Obi's a great name!
  23. Nice book shelves, beef !
  24. awwww that's a shame, I hope they will replace it! I presume you can redownload your books through your account? XD this is great!
  25. We have adult and children's cards too. The children's one (up to age 17) is free and has different limits than the adult one (for adults they have several different cards with different prices and limits).
