Thank you! Happy listening .

If you do, I hope you enjoy it. If you decide not to, I get it, there are plenty more nice books out there!

I've read the first 2 books in the series, and will be reading the 3rd next month (June). I didn't know they were making a TV show of it! I'd love to see the series, but we don't have Disney +. I'd love to hear your opinions on it though! I'm planning to read the whole book series this year (together with a friend/acquaintance).

I really liked Born A Crime. Did you like it too? Good luck with the remaining dozen-ish countries!

I loved The Humans when I read it years ago, but I haven't read anything else yet by Matt Haig. -
Lizzie Huxley-Jones (editor), Gemma Williams, Rachael Lucas, Kerima Çevik, Amelia Wells, Tjallien De Witte, Nell Brown, Robert Shepherd, C. F. Prior, Megan Rhiannon, Grace Au, Reese Piper, Ashleigh J. Mills, Helen Carmichael, Katherine Kingsford, Tristan Alice Nieto, Agri Ismaïl, Laura James, Waverly SM - Stim: An Autistic Anthology This is an anthology of things written by autistic people. There are both fictional pieces and non-fictional pieces. I really enjoyed all of the pieces, except the very first one. Emma Smith-Barton - The Million Pieces of Neena Gill This is a YA contemporary novel about a British-Pakistani female teenager living in Britain, whose brother disappeared about 10 months ago. The novel is a lot about mental health and grief. I really liked it. Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials 3: The Amber Spyglass Book 3 in the fantasy middle-grade series (though some might say it's not middle-grade but younger YA instead?). I really liked this ending to the series, I buddy read it with 3 friends and we all really liked the book. Gail Honeyman - Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine I was a bit hesistant to go into this book because @karen.d DNFed it (I'm not sure if/when she'll see this). But then this month (May) is mental health month and several people I know were reading the book. So I decided to try it too. I really liked this book, but I struggled with the word usage in the beginning. As someone whose first language isn't English, the book used quite a few words that were unfamiliar to me. A few times I stopped and looked things up, other times I did not as doing so does take you out of the story. After the slower beginning (to me!), I got more used to the word use and was also able to read a bit more / being able to concentrate better. The book's ending surprised me. Overall I'm glad I read it because I really enjoyed the book.

I really liked On The Beach. I read it for the first time for English class as a teenager, and re-read it some years ago when here on BCF a bunch of us were reading it as a Reading Circle book in 2015. I finished the 3 books I was reading. I finished Emma Smith-Barton - The Million Pieces of Neena Gill the day before yesterday, and then yesterday I finished Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials 3: The Amber Spyglass (buddy read) and Gail Honeyman - Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I really liked all three of these books. I'll probably pick a new read later today.. not sure what yet. Tomorrow I start a buddy read, of the 2nd Artemis Fowl book (by Eoin Colfer). -

Same here! It went from 25 °C and sunny, to 13 °C, with just around freezing temperatures at night and in the early morning (it's 2 °C atm). The wind feels really cold.

Thanks! It will be a while, since we're still doing up the house, but when it happens I will post about it, maybe even take and share some pictures .

I'm currently reading The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman, book 3 in the His Dark Materials trilogy, as a buddy read. I'm also reading Stim, an autism anthology, edited by Lizzie Huxley-Jones. -
Alice Peterson - A Song For Tomorrow This book is adult contemporary fiction, based on an actual person. The book is about Alice, who has CF and wants to be a singer. I really enjoyed this book. The CF representation seems much better than in Five Feet Apart (see an earlier post in this thread). I loved the characters, the plot, the writing. The book is written from 3 perspectives. Alice's perspective is in first person present tense. Tom's perspective is in third person present tense. And Mary's perspective is in diary form (first person also). Mary is Alice's mother, Tom meets Alice near the beginning of the book. I loved this book, I thought it was really good. I didn't know much about the actual Alice, so the book was more of a surprise to me (though of course, I don't know how much of it is fiction).

More mini-reviews... Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 5: Volume 5 Another great continuation. Natsuki Takaya - Fruits Basket CE 11 (21-22): Volume 11 Natsuki Takaya - Fruits Basket CE 12 (23 & Bonus): Volume 12 I finished off the Fruits Basket series! It was really good. I loved these last volumes. The Bonus stuff wasn't as interesting to me as the main story, but it was nice to read. Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 6: Volume 6 Really liking this series. Eoin Colfer - Artemis Fowl 1: Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl) This was a buddy read, I read the Dutch translation of Artemis Fowl (book 1). This is a middle-grade book that is fantasy and has some science fiction-y elements. I enjoyed this book! Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 7: Volume 7 Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 8: Volume 8 Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 9: Volume 9 Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 10: Volume 10 Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 11: Volume 11 Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 12: Volume 12 (finishing off the series) Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata - Deathnote 13: Volume 13 (extra) I finished off the series! I had originally planned to read one volume a month, but I just felt in the mood to read the remainder of them now, so I did! (When I type now, that's actually a few days ago). I watched the anime 2/3rds a few years ago and then lost interest with how the story had changed. That's in the manga too, but gladly I was able to keep reading and it was more interesting this time around and things made more sense. Overall I really enjoyed the series (even though some volumes were a bit better than others). I also really enjoyed the bonus volume (Volume 13), that came with my box set.

I took an Amazon (NL) Prime trial, partially because I wanted to see Picard (as well as some other shows that I'm working on watching). I enjoyed season 1 of Picard. It wasn't as good as TNG, but I enjoyed it. The pacing was a bit slower in places, particularly in the earlier episodes of the season. It didn't bother me overly, I noticed it but I enjoyed watching it anyway. It's true that Picard has aged, I'd agree with that. I liked most of the characters a lot (though I didn't like Narissa at all, but I don't think you're supposed to like her?).

Thank you Chrissy! That is a nice idea . That makes sense! I could certainly do that! What a great idea! Most of my shelves are doublestacked, I do have photos of most front shelves from a while ago, but none of the back rows on the shelves. Thank you for this!! That's a great analogy! Thank you . That is a great idea! I usually tell myself I can buy or order a book or a few books, after I make it through my dentist appointment. Thanks so much for all your ideas!!

Deathnote 8: Volume 8 by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, 200 pages. How did everyone else do? The June read-a-thon takes place on the 5th, 6th and 7th of June (Fri-Sat-Sun).

Well done! I hope the magazines were interesting . Yesterday I read: Artemis Fowl 1: Artemis Fowl (Dutch translation) by Eoin Colfer (buddy read), 90 pages. Fruits Basket CE 11: Volume 11 (Volumes 21 & 22) by Natsuki Takaya, 389 pages. Fruits Basket CE 12: Volume 12 (Volume 23 & Bonus) by Natsuki Takaya, 356 pages. Deathnote 6: Volume 6 by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, 216 pages. Which is more than I thought I would read. I had unexpectedly lesser access to other things I could do, so I read more instead.

Thank you! I'm really liking it so far . I love Holly! I plan to read more in it today (we're reading 3 chapters each day). I hope you enjoy reading more in Wyrd Sisters . Yesterday in the evening I read Deathnote Volume 5 by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata (201 pages). Artemis Fowl 1 was 62 pages, not 67 (can't read my own hand writing ).
