  1. Its been a milk curdling, egg frying triple digit in my neck of the wood. I am officially fagged and its only 1650. I've been out all day and I can promise you I will not leave my block (for an early morning walk tomorrow) for the next two days. The heat promises to intensify and I'm not in the mood to flat line.

May is not starting out to be a good month for me. Having cataract surgery next week, not a big deal but more serious things were detected in the very thorough tests that were run.

Praying for a clean bill of health.

It's already been a hectic month. Dd and hubby moved yet again. They are still 15 minutes. The house is SO much better than the rental they took position of when we moved them back from El Paso, TX. While we appreciate the landlord renting to them (not the best credit, etc) but all he did was collect the rent. The plumbing is messed up. The house has 6 bathrooms and they ALL have leaks and running water. The owner kept the water bill in their name and are now upset that they have a water bill of $3700. DD and SIL told them when they first moved in about the water issue. He only sent a plumber friend around after he got the bill. The thing is, he can refuse to pay the bill and let it get turned off and in order for dd and family to have water, they'd have to put the water bill in their name and pay that past due bill when it was the landlords responsibility. THEN there was the insurance fraud. Dd was preparing for Thanksgiving and something caught fire on the stove. There was smoke and water damage. The owners filed an insurance claim. They told dd that they owed $6k in deductibles yet the insurance company told them it was only $1k. The owners brought in a cleaning service who didn't clean the place. So they've lived in a house that still had extensive smoke damage and poor wiring. NOW on top of that, there is the problem with the air conditioning. We're in a southern state. Landlords are required to provide some basics, like the air conditioning. The house could get up to 90' degrees. Six little ones and a daughter with medical issues, not a good mix. He kept saying he'd come and fix it and never did. So, he's now out of two tenants. Our dd and family and the college students that rented the unit in front of their house. They got a beautiful home and have already moved in. It's smaller but safe, clean and everything is working. Lots of light and grass for the babies to play in.

Now its Monday and I plan to do very little. As we had the kids since last Thursday we are exhausted. My mom came down to visit for her birthday and she took the two oldest grand daughters back with her for a few weeks. The house is now empty. I'm so glad! I'll walk Kizzy, sit at the lake dock and read and run one errand for ds. That's IT!

Too late, Aussie have abducted him now ...he's very popular! But NOOOOOOOooooooooo ... we don't want Trump, I don't think he'd last long here, anyway. He'd be drummed out of the country:motz:

I'd be happy with him being attacked by a kangaroo. Seriously. Kicked in the face and balls.

Various European countries - and the US expelling Russian diplomats. I don't think Putin is going to be very happy and wouldn't be surprised if there was a large-scale Russian cyber attack in retaliation. I am backing up my computer just in case!

I'm thinking some Drumpf secrets will start to be leaked from credible witnesses out of Russia.

It's not that bad - honest!

LOL! I'm actually excited about it! I just got done talking with the hubby and I'm having my half century birthday party!!! I'm rolling into this new stage with anticipation!

  5. And in other news, we've had ANOTHER freaking school shooting in Washington, DC. Oh, and a homegrown terrorist whose been targeting African Americans in Austin, Texas. After holding the state hostage by fear, he decided to do the world a favor by blowing himself up. Talking mouth pieces don't want to calm him what he was, a 24 year old white, homegrown American terrorist. Had he been any other color that's what he'd have been called. But they'll push the mental illness agenda because of his conservative, "Christian" homeschooled upbringing.

Did I forget to mention that Dotard Drumpf has fired two of his staff in one day and now we have a warmonger as the head of national security Oh, and we have a dead head former neurosurgeon basically stole $31,000 for a damned dinner table for his OFFICE, when questioned about the price tag, this disgusting repugnant douche blamed it on his WIFE! But he forgot that there is email to link him to approving the purchase. I see him and I want to vomit almost as much as I want to vomit when I see that orange igit.

I won't even go into the whole "sleeping with the porn star while married to his current wife, without protection and then having her threatened with violence if she doesn't keep quiet. Oh, and the call girl he had a 10 month affair while still married to his current wife.

Can you tell I'm frustrated? LMBO!!

  6. Took three of my grandsons to the zoo. It's my youngest 6th birthday and it fell on free Friday!  The zoo is free to the public every Friday in January and February. The weather is absolutely PERFECT for it!  What makes it even better is that when I went into the pizza shop I bought five slices totalling $16.75. It wasn't till I was about to pay for it that I realized I could have gotten a WHOLE pie for $1 more. I asked the cashier of I could change the order and you know what he did? He gave me the pie for FREE!! What would have easily cost $100 for the day only cost $16 for the original slices! And the boys are happy!!

  7. I started this book last year but it got packed away in anticipation of our move. I don't remember what I was reading or listening to today that triggered my memory but I pulled it off the shelf in order to spend a few weeks traveling back to antebellum Charleston, South Carolina. What I like about this book is that while it is set during slavery and the Reconstruction, it doesn't FOCUS on slaves/slavery. It is a story about a family of women who leave their plantation in Beaufort (my hometown) and ventures out to a new life and opportunities. The book is called Some Sing, Some Cry, by Ntozake Shange and Ifa Bayeza.  I think this will be a book that I take my time with. I realized a while back that I tend to rush through books and I have no reason why? So a nice slow spring savoring of this book is planned. I have my lovely dock to sit out on and a cool sun room (conservatory) to escape into an hour a day!

  8. Hey y'all!

Had a nice weekend. Watched the grands Saturday to Sunday after I walked around the downtown open market, library and did a little shopping. Sunday was a pampering day. Did my hair, nails and facial. Then I did a quick clean of the house, guy the grands dressed and took then home. I then bought tickets to see Black Panther (ended up buying them online cause the lines were ridicuous. Got home and ordered some seafood. Hubby and I went to pick it up and ate it at the mall. Then it was time to go to the 1600 showing. Had an AMAZING time!!!  Then it was 🏠 to relax. Today we're getting our teeth cleaned then as little grocery shopping and back home. I'm taking my granddaughters to my mom's house tomorrow after I go to an MLS class. The class is for using the key lock for homes that we are showing.

Nothing to hectic, just busy enough!

    Nutella on toast

My granddaughter (3) was caught with a spoon and near empty container of Nutella. It was near full when she found it.... she is now banned from the Nutella.

I'm currently finishing off a rotisserie chicken, don't want much else.

  10. Hey y'all!

I am finished with my real estate courses and am now licensed to sell property. Yaayyyy! I have a few interviews lined up starting tomorrow and next week and then I need to choose which brokerage firm is a good fit. You have to be so careful because your license is only issued (even though you are an agent) when you have a brokerage firm because you are working under a broker. We are not employees but we have to have a "home" to hang our license and to move from firm to firm is a major hassle.

When I got home from class I picked up a few items from Walmart. We really needed a safe. It never seemed to be a necessity until we became homeowners. Keeping up with insurance policies and mortgage paperwork, et al.  I also spent some time updating paperwork in respect to new billing accounts for electric and water, that sort of thing. I handle all of the bills and paperwork but I keep a big binder so hubby can put hands on it in the event that something happens to me. I think its a great idea to have a place to keep all your important stuff written down. He doesn't mess with the online stuff but I made it available just in case. Now that all that's done, I'm up to date with my yearly paper purge. I have a nice pile waiting to be burned in the fireplace. Its just too much effort to shred it all.

Now that everything is done, I can sit and read til I fall asleep!

  11. I could never understand the lack of air conditioning in European nations. I can't deal with the heat and I live in the south. During the summer months I literally go into hibernation. If I can't get it done early in the morning then it won't get done. Its funny because I have air conditioning but can't tolerate "canned air" much either so I wait til it gets just hot enough before turning it on for the summer. I don't like riding in my truck with it on. I'd rather drive with the windows down. Drives dh crazy. But I have arthritis in my bones and it just makes life uncomfortable to be too cold.

Speaking of cold, today was a fairly decent day but tomorrow promises to be messy and cold. We've already brought in wood in case I decide to light the fire place. The menfolk have already put in the cold weather comfort meal for tomorrow and I've gotten it out to thaw. Got the warm fuzzy plaid jammies and slippers on the ready. I may go check on my client tomorrow depending on how the weather is. If its not too bad I'll go by. Once I get home that will be it. I drive well in all weather but I have a phobia of other folks driving. Having been in law enforcement I have seen things and what I know about where I live is that when the weather turns ugly, people lose their dang minds and forget what wipers and breaks are for. So I stay put!
