bethany725 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I've talked to 2 people today that make me feel really good about myself. One I'm pretty sure does drugs. The other lives in a complete fantasy world. And now this. This is marvelous for my self-esteem today.
Nollaig Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 OMGOMGOMGOSH. My Twilight dvd arrived. It's a sign that I am to treat myself, so I'm going submitting my essay, buying Ben & Jerrys and coke, and sitting down to watch the movie, and then the 2 HOURS OF ADDITIONAL FOOTAGE HOLY **** I'M A FANGIRL somebody stop me
BookBee8 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 People like that should be shot. In the kneecaps. Repeatedly. I couldn't agree more. OMGOMGOMGOSH. My Twilight dvd arrived. :clapping:Woot! Let me know what you think. Enjoy! When I watched it I had my Coke and a bag of Twiglets, I was in heaven.

Have fun watching and come back with a full report! Watch the commentary too if you can, their comments are hilarious!!! Btw, those insane Cullenist folks give the rest of us a bad name! They are the reason I don't share my enthusiasm for the series unless in an anonymous setting, lol.
Nightwish Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I got mine on Monday and still haven't watched it! My parents really want to watch it with my tonight though, how strange My mum loves the books as much as I do, but my dad had no interest in seeing it. I can't wait to see his face during the sparkle scene, seeing as he is a huge vampire fan

BookBee8 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 That scares you? Did you read what Lexie post about 'Cullenism'? An actual religion based on Twilight . Us guys on BCF are sane.
Nightwish Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Us guys on BCF are sane. Try telling that to my boyfriend, I went so hyper the other day when an advert for Twilight came on tv
Rawr Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 That scares you? Did you read what Lexie post about 'Cullenism'? An actual religion based on Twilight . Us guys on BCF are sane. I have two words for this... 'oh my'
BookBee8 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Try telling that to my boyfriend, I went so hyper the other day when an advert for Twilight came on tv My boyfriend would say the same thing about me. I have two words for this... 'oh my' I know, it's crazy. There's being a fan, and then there's having issues. Creating a religion around Twilight is quite scary.
Rawr Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Meyer doesn't know what she's started I'd take harry potterism over twilightism any day! That'll be world war 3 i think.
Rawr Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I see we are now coining our own words relating to the series.
Nightwish Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 The worst thing I have done is that I took my bf to see Twilight with me, I don't know how I will get those books off him It is disappointing to see that his bookcrush is Bella! I'm not doing that much better with a control freak as mine
Nollaig Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 My best mate brought her bf to it. Her, me, our other fangirl friend, and that poor boy. I don't think he's forgiven us yet.
BookBee8 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 My BF came with me and now he loves it too. I swear Carlisle and Jasper are his new heroes. He's even reading Twilight, the first book I think he's ever read!
Nightwish Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I know what you mean! My boyfriend is forever reading gaming magazines and gaming guides, and when he is out shopping with me and I buy a book he buys one or two. But he never reads them so I end up stealing them from him. He got Interview with the Vampire 2 years ago and he has still not read it. Books need to be read! Grrr! At least I read it for him I have no idea why he has bothered to read Twilight. He always used to moan at me for reading them, so I ended up telling him all the plot of all 4 books, so he knows it all
Chrissi Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Please tell me this religion thingy is just a joke Just started re-reading Twilight a couple of hours ago as my first go on it was about 3 years ago when my English wasn't that good and I didn't wanted to read the German translation But when I started reading I said to the girl that I'm looking after (she is 6 now): "When you're about 12 years old you will absolutely love this book! EVERY girl loves this book!" She then wanted to know what it was about, but I'm not sure she really liked the idea of people being in love, she always starts cringing and looks away when there are people kissing in a film
Peacefield Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I would have loved for these books to have been around way back when I was a teen, lol. I'm sure I would have been just reduced to a giggling puddle since I was already a big fan of Sweet Valley High, etc. I'm watching the DVD tomorrow night with a couple of my friends who are dying to watch it just to make fun of how bad it is. Just watch, they'll both want to read the books though afterwards, lol.
Nollaig Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I just watched the movie with commentary and all the extras. I actually really enjoyed it, and I have to say, once you get into the production and the views of the actors and crew, it makes a huge difference. It doesn't seem at all stupid - what makes it stupid is the fan's reaction. It was actually Catherine Hardwick's firm decision that 'Let Me Sign' was going into the ballet studio scene when the flashbacks are occuring. That was pure genius, I don't care what anybody says about the movie, that sequence was amazing and the song choice couldn't have been more perfect. Apparently a lot of people told Hardwicke it wouldn't work, but she snuck it in and I'm glad, coz it's amazing.

Nollaig Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 When I saw it the very first time, I was completely blown away. The song is amazing, it's one of the best songs I've heard in a very long time. And it was just so unexpected. The snow in the meadow was beautiful, and the whole thing somehow had this element of raw nostalgic emotion. I can't say enough about it. That and the baseball scene make up for all the other problems in the movie.
