muggle not Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Actually it is a two part question: 1. What is your favorite breakfast. 2. What do you usually have for breakfast. Quote
poppy Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 1. If I could have anything for breakfast, I think I would like to try your American flapjacks and maple syrup or perhaps fresh warm croissants and COFFEE. 2. Weetbix and coffee Quote
Sofia Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 on the weekends sometimes we go out. omelet and homefries....yummy during the week, just coffee and toast Quote
JohnT Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 My favorite breakfast would be a small stack of Pancakes with butter, and maple syrup, 3 eggs over medium, 2 slices of bacon and 2 link sausages, country potatoes, and maybe one biscuit with gravy. Large Coffee. ___________________________________________________________________ What I really have: A bowl of Cheerios, (oat cereal) with one packet of substitute sugar, half glass of Milk at 1% for the cereal, one banana and a cup of coffee. I have this about five days a week. Quote
pontalba Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Muggle, I was just thinking about a thread like this earlier today. I suppose my favorite breakfast is a bacon and over-easy egg sandwich loaded with butter. But I don't often have that, I usually have my second favorite which is either waffles with butter and peanut butter or anything with butter and peanut butter on it...oatmeal bread, english muffins, pumpernickle bread.....because a day without peanut butter is like a day without sunshine! IMHO. besides if I don't have the peanut butter for breakfast, I have it right before I go to bed....... Quote
dogmatix Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I'm not a breakfast person but I guess my favorite would be waffles with butter and syrup. I most often have coffee early then brunch later on in the morning which might toast or a bagel with cream cheese. Quote
Freewheeling Andy Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 My favourite breakfast is a Germanic one, with lots of nutty and seedy breads, butter, cheese and fantastic range of cured hams and salamis. And orange juice. And lots and lots of coffee. My normal breakfast is nothing, or bread and butter. Quote
Michelle Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 My breakfast tends to be a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits, which is really bad of me, because breakfast is important. Coffee and croissants sounds nice, but I have to admit I do like a nice cooked breakfast too. Quote
Icecream Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 1. I love bacon egg and ketchup bagels/muffins, or croissants. 2. I usually have porridge. I always have coffee and breakfast orange. Quote
Sarahrob Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Favourite would be the breakfast you get in a cheap hotel in France - a selection of sliced meat and cheese with crusty rolls and hot coffee. Mmmmmm... I don't normally eat breakfast unless I'm hung over, at which point I will eat absolutely anything including the jar of pickles that always seems to be lurking at the back of the fridge despite my being absolutely certain I have never bought them. Quote
madcow Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 1. Fav breakfast has to be a full monty fry up closely followed by continental. 2. Usual breakfast....mmm tea and sometimes toast (If i have time). Quote
Renniemist Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 1 Favourite breakfast is Pancakes and Maple Syrup 2 Usually have Coffee and toast, and I always have some fruit juice. Quote
KW Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Protien drink -- chocolate shake type is my b-fast of choice. Quote
Pilgrim Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Eggs Benedict though I often get an upset stomach from the sauce. Usually have toast, an egg and coffee. Quote
Icecream Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 In Africa if we had a long day we would have breakfast, bread and jam, sometimes cereal, then we would get a second breakfast out in the form of a danish. mmmm danish for second breakfast. Bad, but so good. Something for a long day.. Quote
muggle not Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 Muggle, I was just thinking about a thread like this earlier today. He / She who hesitates................... 1. If I could have anything for breakfast, I think I would like to try your American flapjacks and maple syrup or perhaps fresh warm croissants and COFFEE. The flapjacks and "real" maple syrup are good choices. We go up into the mountains every year in late winter/early spring to where they have the camps and are tapping the maple trees. We buy the maple syrup from a store where they boil it down outside in a huge vat. It is soo good. time for my dinner............gotta go. Quote
poppy Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 My lovely sister-in-laws family from USA gave us some REAL maple syrup and it's absolutely delicious. Quote
Kell Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Gypsy toast for me thanks. Also known as French toast or eggy bread, but we always called it Gypsy toast when I was a kid. I only occasionally have it, but it's real comfort food & one of my absolute faves. Quote
~V~ Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 1. favourite - hotel breakfast or sherry trifle on boxing day 2. what i usually have - two cups of black coffee and three ciggies. Quote
Michelle Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I love trifle at Christmas, but I don't think I've ever had it for breakfast! Quote
Maureen Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 The British have left us that legacy.... ....but I wouldn't eat it for breakfast. Quote
Icecream Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 The British have left us that legacy.... ....but I wouldn't eat it for breakfast. Just don't make it the way Rachel made it in Friends:lol: Quote
Purple Poppy Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 1) Favourite would be a hotel breakfast with whole array of fruits, Yogurts, nuts, cereals, cooked breakfast if you want it, bread, croissant or toast etc. Couldn't have it all, but the choice is very appealing. 2) In reality, usually toast and Earl Grey tea. Sometimes oats (uncooked) with milk and tiny bit of sugar. Trifle is wonderful, especially if enough sherry, but for BREAKFAST????? Susanna:coffee1: Quote
