bookworm44 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I know some of us were talking about reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but I'm not sure if it's the official July read or not! I'd definitely be interested in reading that one! Okay, I've updated the Rory List onto a Word document but it's going to take me some time to create an Excel spreadsheet because I have to enter in all the books one by one and I'm feeling too lazy to do it all tonight. If anyone is interested in having a copy of the Word document feel free to PM me your email and I can send it to you. I'll let you know when I finish the spreadsheet Also, Janet recommended this great free software that you can use in place of Word that is compatible with all sorts of files called Open Office. If you're interested you can find the free download here: www.openoffice.org You're the best! I'm going to PM you now. =) Quote
AbielleRose Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 You're the best! I'm going to PM you now. =) I just sent it Let me know if you have any trouble with it. Quote

Lucybird Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I'm hoping to get ahold of that next week too, or maybe The Dirt Quote
Kylie Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I've finally gotten around to reading The Polysyllabic Spree. I'm really enjoying it so far and will post my final thoughts in a day or two. Quote
Lucybird Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I've started Northanger Abbey now. I looked up The Dirt on my library catalogue but they don't seem to have it, I should have checked for The Perks of Being a Wall Flower too. Quote
Kylie Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I finished The Polysyllabic Spree. I give it 4/5. Quote
bookworm44 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I finished Gone with the Wind and absolutely loved it! Right now I'm reading The Bell Jar and I'm hoping to pick up a copy of The Perks of being a Wallflower sometime this week. Quote

Right now I'm reading The Bell Jar and I'm hoping to pick up a copy of The Perks of being a Wallflower sometime this week. All great books there Bookworm! I'm so glad you enjoyed Gone with the Wind. It immediately became one of my favourite books as well. Quote
Kylie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 It has been a while since we've read a book for this challenge. Any one up for another one? I'm proposing To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I've read this before and it's one of my all-time favourite books. This year is the 50th anniversary of its publication and my local book club TV show will be discussing it in a few weeks, so I figure now is a perfect time for a re-read. And the most important reason of all: I'm desperate for Frankie to read it so I'm hoping to entice her into reading it with me. Anyone up for it? I'm thinking of starting in the next couple of weeks. frankie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Frankie has been successfully enticed into reading the novel Quote
Kylie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Frankie has been successfully enticed into reading the novel Yay! Quote
Ooshie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I have been thinking about reading To Kill A Mockingbird since hearing it is the 50th anniversary, so I would like to join in too, please! I loved the film with Gregory Peck and have seen it several times, but have never read the the book Quote
Kylie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Excellent! I'm sure you won't be disappointed in the book, particularly if you like the movie. It's one of the best book-to-movie adaptations ever. Are you happy to read it this month Ooshie? I don't want to rush anyone. Quote
Ooshie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Yes, this month would be fine, Kylie - I'm looking forward to it already Quote
chesilbeach Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I couldn't actually be bothered to look though the entire thread , but I'm guessing the list on the first page has been superseded by a longer list - is that right? Is there anywhere where the list is just text on a webpage? No disrespect to any of you, but I never open documents from anyone due to my own paranoia, so wondered if the full list is anywhere I can just copy and paste it from a webpage into my own spreadsheet? Thanks Quote

Thanks I have the list saved on a Word doc and have been thinking about creating a spot for it on my blog. I think I'll go ahead and just do that, one I have I'll let you know so you can copy and save it if you like (Totally understand your 'paranoia' with all the crazy virus' out there. Even if you don't mean to send one to a friend you still may end up doing so.) Quote
frankie Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Oooh, I see chesilbeach on this thread.... in no time she'll be joining us in group readings of all the Rory Gilmore books Ooshie, I take it you've never read To Kill a Mockingbird? Another first timer here Quote
Lucybird Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I've read To Kill a Mockingbird before but I may well join in. Quote
AbielleRose Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 For anyone who wants it I've posted the list on my blog: I couldn't remember the original person who compiled the list, so if anyone could help me out I'd like to give credit to them on the post. Thanks http://stainedglassinthenight.blogspot.com/2010/08/rory-list.html Quote
frankie Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Abby, I did the rearranging of the list into an alphabetical order. I'm not saying that to get the credit but to let you know that you still have my own TBR markings on the list Edited August 7, 2010 by frankie Quote
