Angel
We had lots of pancakes with plenty of sugar and lemon I wil give up biscuits for lent (they will help with the diet!) and being impatient!! (looks like it could be a long 6 weeks, LOL )
Chimera
I'm actually not religious at all but I could try to do the lent thing for my diet Giving up meat wouldn't be a problem as I'm veggi anyway, but I'm eating far too much chocolate right now! We'll see how that goes... I had the same thought but then again... no. Definitely not possible. *hides her chocolate slab protectively behind her back*
Echo
I can't remember the last time I gave anything up for Lent. My parents still avoid meat on Fridays during Lent, but I always forget. Maybe I'll give up....no, nothing. I ain't giving up nothin'!
Cadenza
Still trying to decide what to give up for lent. I've already thought about giving up school for lent but somehow I don't think my parents will agree...
Lucybird
I'm giving up sugary cereal, since moving home again I've got into the habit of having coco pops for breakfast. The last few years I gave up internet forums, but that's not a challenge anymore
BrainFreeze
Still trying to decide what to give up for lent. I've already thought about giving up school for lent but somehow I don't think my parents will agree... I'm not giving anything up for Lent - I'm not religious (i'm agnostic) so I feel like I'd be a hyprocrite. Not that there's not plenty of things I could really do with giving up, but 6 weeks without anything wouldn't make that much of a dent. I'm an all or nothing kind of girl! Nollaig
I gave up Religion for Lent (paradox - the mind boggles) about.. I'm 21... I was 10... that makes 11 years ago. Nice to see my maths is still up to scratch. I'm an all or nothing kinda gal too - I never took Religion back on
chrysalis_stage
Roxi - Good idea! I had 9 pancakes and I'm now stuffed silly. I had butter, lemon and sugar, would have treacle but we ran out. haha, Cadenza, I too thought of that when I was at school, it sadly didn't work for me either. Nollaig
I should have made pancakes for my brother. He loves them. He probably doesn't even know it's Pancake Tuesday though. And I baked him queen cakes yesterday so he's grand.

Raven
Why is today pancake day? Where does the tradition come from? Today is the anniversary of the day the Pancake Fairy was hung by Cromwell for trying to blow up Santa's Workshop - don't ask, it's terribly complicated . . . Ernie
A bit late for this year but this explains the whole thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrove_Tuesday Next Pancake Day is February 16th 2010, so why not put a reminder on your phone to buy eggs etc a few days before. Cadenza
I had more pancakes today, you don't have to wait till next year, I know I couldn't. We say every year that we should have pancakes more often during the year - but we never do!
Chimera
We say every year that we should have pancakes more often during the year - but we never do! Same here. The thing is they are a pain to make so most of the time we dont bother.
pipread
I had more pancakes today, you don't have to wait till next year, I know I couldn't. I wouldn`t wait if somebody else offered to make them for me, I really don`t like making & cooking them, but I would happily eat them.
