Colin Jacobs
Ok back to the lift. Another day you are at a writers conference and the lift is stuck. in that lift is yourself and one of the writers, who would you like to be stuck with?. I will start by having James Herbert so I could ask him why his last few books have been such hard work on the reader?
Kreader
None, if they're not carry a book that I have not read.

Andaira
I'm officially avoiding elevators from now on. I wouldn't mind being stuck with J. R. Ward. Again her, but she's become one of my favorite authors of late.
Ernie
Dawn French would be a good laugh.

Kell
I wouldn't mind so much being stuck, as long as I didn't need to pee, with the likes of Terry Pratchett, Simon Scarrow, Kelley Armstrong, Christopher Brookmyre or Stuart Macbride - I love their books and could quite happily while away the time chatting with them
Ceinwenn
For me, it would be Jonathan Kellerman. I love his books!
Inky Sam
I'd like to be stuck in a lift with Cornelia Funke, or Angie Sage...I just can't get enough of their books!

I love his books! Bill Bryson. That guy is a complete crack-up. I definitely agree with these three suggestions, although someone (now dead) who I think I would enjoy the company of is Peter Ustinov. And no bladder/bowel issues for the duration is a must!!

baggiesfan
Mark Billingham, with him being a stand up comedian we could talk books and have a good giggle too.
Nellie
Like others, I would go for Terry Pratchett. If we could go back in time (is there a lift in the TARDIS??) I'd love to meet Agatha Christie.
