Inver Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Hurrah....no cooking tonight. Waiting for hubby to come home from Fife and then we are ordering in a curry for us hungry people
Lucybird Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Tonight I will be making a Shepherds pie, made with fresh shepherds! Actually scrub that! It may be a Cottage pie - I can never remember the difference! Shepherd's pie is lamb, cottage pie is beef We're having Delhi Style Lamb tonight. My favourite curry
ELQ Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Fish Pie! Although having a huge guilt attack after buying a goldfish for the kids! (not for the fish pie OBVIOUSLY!)- maybe veggie burger yep the guilt got the better of me, had a banana and some Doritos - healthy or what! (NOT!)
Ben Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Well I was Old Trafford so we had the fancy chefs cooking for us. Starter of leek and potato soup with bread buns. Followed with steak and a little bit of vegetables. Lastly, finished up with some like a berry tart thing. Twas' LOVELY!

chrysalis_stage Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 It's Sunday so roast dinner, chicken this week Oh you lucky woman! Just realised its pancake day sooooon!
Lucybird Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Yes on Tuesday! It's the only time all year I usually get pancakes, or at least when I'm living at home it is. Roast dinner though we have every week yummy though
chrysalis_stage Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Being at uni messes up roast dinner allowance I think I have pancakes more than roast dinners lol
Lucybird Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 lol yes uni did that for me too. Although I did make them with my housemates a few times. Pancakes we had more though, it's pretty much the only none frozen food my boyfriend makes on a regular basis
chrysalis_stage Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I hate pancakes Good idea, stay under the chair till pancake day has passed What don't you like about them? My brother is very picky and even he likes them.
Lucybird Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 But you put sugar and lemon on them for flavour
Ceinwenn Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Or you have North American pancakes, like we will be having & add fresh fruit to the batter - or fruit yoghurt.
Nollaig Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 But you put sugar and lemon on them for flavour In my experience, A) lemon is bitter, and bitter dough is worse than tasteless dough, and sugary pancakes makes for a briefly sweet taste followed by dough. It's like donuts. The plain ones aren't really sweet, and the amount of sugar on the outside just emphasizes the sheer tastelessness of the actual food item. If pancakes were ever to be nice, a lot of sugar would have to be cooked into them.
Lucybird Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Fair enough, I suppose there has to be some people that don't like pancakes.
Nollaig Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I did like them when I was a kid. I don't really know why I went off them
