~Andrea~
I saw the Two Hairy Biker's programme for the first time last night I was trying to place the blond one's accent ...is it the same as Neville off Auf Weidersehen Pet? Yes. I think they both have North East/Newcastleish accents. Perhaps the blonde one's is stronger.
Stephanie2008
Only one of them's from Newcastle I think. The blonde one is. But I'm not sure about the other one.
~Andrea~
Oh really. He sounded north eastern to me. I'll have to go and listen to him again now!
Stephanie2008
I just looked it up, and Dave is from Cumbria and Si is from Tyne and Wear, so I guess they both are from the north. Maybe it's because I'm from Newcastle that I can tell the difference
Inver
I like Gordon Ramsay too, and am booked for lunch at his NY restaurant in four weeks! Don't suppose he will be there though!!
poppy
Thanks for answering my question I could definitely hear a difference in their accents, I love the Geordie accent.
Raven
I saw the Two Hairy Biker's programme for the first time last night I was trying to place the blond one's accent ...is it the same as Neville off Auf Weidersehen Pet? I'm not sure who Neville is in Auf Weidersehen Pet, but I'm assuming it is the character played by Jimmy Nail, in which case Yes - they are both from Newcastle. ETA: Only one of them's from Newcastle I think. The blonde one is. But I'm not sure about the other one. The other one is from Barrow in Furness (though I think he lives in Blackpool now - they visit home quite often in their programs!). poppy
Neville was played by Kevin Whately, but several had Geordie accents, so it could have been any of them. Oz (Jimmy Nail) had a particularly strong accent, sometimes I couldn't pick up what he was saying. But then the only practice I get is from watching TV programmes
Ruth
Don't suppose he will be there though!! No, I doubt it very much! But the food is supposed to be gorgeous.
Inver
My friend was having lunch at Alnwick gardens the other day and she said the Hairy Bikers were there lunching too.
Tiger
I like the look of James Martin's recipes, and I also like Ramsay (recipes look a bit hard for my age group though ). Angel and I have also been to Rick Stein's fish and chips place in Padstow, Cornwall quite a few times
Wonders disciple
Rick Stein and Nigel Slater are probably my Two favourites. I love Rick's passion for cooking and ingredients, would love to be able to sit down and have a good chat with him. I love Nigel's writing, he also has recipes that you just want to cook. Real cooking i suppose.
